Still celebrating all of those SEC championship game appearances? National Title game appearances? Oh wait....

i did. Way to derail this thread though with your petty gradeschool BS.
Stop crying.
What is “consistently elite” in football is the question you still refuse to answer.

Well, nobody really cares about Auburn
They've accomplished a helluva lot more in this sport than y'all have Mr. "I Just Had My First Ever 11 Win Season".

Its just so weird looking at Auburn's schedule and not seeing LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State.
I can't imagine what you're going through...wait...yes I can...we experienced the same thing over 30 years ago. Between 1956 and 1991, Tennessee played Ole Miss 34 times. The only years they didn't play during that stretch were: 1970 & 1971. Since 1991, they have played 8 times.
By comparison...since 1991, Auburn and Ole Miss have played...you guessed it, 34 times. Before that...they had only played 15 times since the inception of the SEC in 1932.
Auburn is losing their annual matchup with LSU...a team they played a total of 17 times between 1934 and 1991.
The only "real" long-term rivalry that Auburn is losing is Mississippi State.
Heck...let's talk about Auburn vs Tennessee. Between 1956 and 1991, Tennessee and Auburn played every season (36 consecutive seasons). Since 1991, they have played 11 times.
So...yes, things will change. But we were able to deal with it in the expansion of 1992...and again with the expansion of 2012. We will deal with it again.

I think over time it will correct itself in some respects
I like idea of super conferences with minor sports being regionalized
It makes no sense for west coast to not have baseball and softball leagues

Just stfu and watch golf or something. I remember old timers in the late 90s telling me it was dead because it's changed so much.
The model has fundamentally changed from a bastardized version of amateur athletics to a pretty much full pro model. It's just a lesser version of the NFL.
The main difference between CFB and the XFL (the other 2nd tier league) is the tradition, the brand power aka college affiliation. And conference realignment is eroding that quickly. Furthermore, cable & centralized media has been eroding since the early 2000s with not a lot of indication that it will ever come back.
I'd watch golf but it's fractured as heck too with the LIV tour. Too many people chasing money without regard to the actual product & the fans

I wouldnt be surprised if in 10-15 years the ncaa is gone and cfb has a commissioner and a salary cap.
Coach Kalen DeBoer and Coach Nate Oats are both at the top of their game and have that NIL and portal savvy that it takes to prosper under new management.
These men are prepared for constant bidding wars and getting 2nd and 3rd teamers to return for even more future glory. Instead of just getting ready for the battle these men will be able to spend their precious time convincing these young accountants, over and over, why they really don't want to go where they think they want to go.
At BAMA our mantra is simple: "The Grass Is Always Greener Over Someone else's Septic Tank," Print the shirts, and all contributions are welcomed.

I don't care about schedules/rivalries changing, but I do care about mercenary players and pay-for-play.
Unless and until they fix that I'll continue watching Florida play and not much else.
I think the good ol days of college football are in the rear view mirror.

I'm in my early 30s so I'm not sure I qualify, but I sure did like having players come to a school because they wanted to help them win and sticking around for at least 3 years.
I don't think people younger than me like the current system either.

Change can be good or bad. Before SEC expansion in 92, LSU hardly ever played Auburn. LSU and Auburn didn’t play from 1942 to 1969. Almost immediately after the divisions were formed, it became must see football with the 94 Interception Game, 95 Bring Back the Magic, and 96 Barnburner. It became even more dramatic in the 2000s as we all know. We would never have had that without expansion.
That came at the expense of Auburn-TN and Auburn-FL, which were longtime rivalries played every year that produced their own exciting and noteworthy games.
