I know they are currently ranked #1 for the next 18 hours, but are they really the #1 team or even top 5? Outside of Hagen Smith(best pitcher in NCAA) who else do they have? Their pitching staff is good, but the hitting is the complete opposite. They gonna win most times Smith starts, but looking at this weekend, UK is exposing the other Arkansas pitchers. Also Arkansas hitting is in the bottom half of the SEC.

Arkansas SEC Season Rankings:
Batting AVG- 10th, .272
Slugging PCT- 13th, .446
On Base PCT- 8th, .390
Runs scored- 9th, 329
Hits- 9th, 423
RBI’s- 10th, 301
HR’s- 10th, 63
Total bases- 10th, 694

What is everyone’s prediction for them the SEC Tournament, and NCAA Postseason?

Also is Van Horn the biggest choke artist among other current coaches in the SEC? DVH has been a D1 HC for 26 years and has not won an NCAA title. He’s been at Arkansas for 21 years now, and still no college World Series title. Is Arkansas content never winning the baseball title with DVH, or will they finally get tired of him and finally force him into retirement. It looks like DVH is gonna waste another great talent with Smith the same way he did with Kopps.

I also agree that Tennessee should be #1 come tomorrow.

You don't get the lowest ERA in the conference because of one guy.

Solid concern troll, though.

Not sure about that! They went 2-2 this week. Only dominant win was yesterday. I could see a path for Clemson to jump everyone if they win in dominant fashion today, or even ECU if they sweep all 3 this weekend.

He may be a choke artist but he absolutely owns Tony

In all seriousness, DVH needs to stop being so loyal to Nate Thompson. The guy has consistently sucked

I have already said they have good pitching. I guess you missed that part though? No matter how good your pitching is, you will lose games if you can’t score. And Arkansas has one of the worst offensive teams in the SEC. A good pricking staff can be great when only given up 3-4 runs a game. But if the other team gets up 3-0, it’s unlikely that Arkansas is coming back many times. Tennessee yesterday was down 3-0 and come above and won 16-3. You don’t need the #1 offense, but having a top 3 offense and top 3 pitching is better than angering the #1 pitching and #10 hitting in the conference.

And Tony V will win a World Series title before DVH does at Arkansas at this rate.

They just know how to win. And having the best pitcher in the country is more than a “yeah but”.

You'll get no argument from me with that statement. I think Vitello is an excellent coach. When DVH retires, he'll be my number one choice.

What do you call Arkansas then? Surely you have multiple national titles with talk like that? Oh that’s right, you have as many titles in baseball as Tennessee and aTm. In fact Tennessee has won the SEC tournament more times than Arkansas. Congrats on doing the least with most in baseball.

He will never come to Texas, just go ahead and get that out of your head. There’s only 1 job I would be worried about him leaving for if it came open, and it’s not Texas. Arkansas is the only school that would have a chance for him, and then I’m not sure he will leave Tennessee. Especially with all the money the Vols are putting into baseball now basically building a new stadium the exact way Tony V wants it. Tony V is helping with the design of the new stadium, and the school is letting him have all the power when it comes to baseball.
