The geographic center of the conference is now near Memphis

It's in the middle of a triangle between Oxford, Starkville, and Tupelo.

Guess we ought to move the game and HQs to Tupelo to be most fair.

When Nashville gets a domed stadium, they may take it over. Fairly central and neutral.

Wouldn't this give Vanderbilt an unfair advantage in the SECCG every year?

Wrong. Also, isn’t it embarrassing that the B12 plays their CG in a far superior and more iconic venue that is also quite a bit larger?

Jerryworld / Arlington are not superior and anyone who thinks falls into 2 camps: a) they live closer to it or b) they’ve never been to game there and experienced how dull and soul-less it is and therefore don’t know any better

I’ve read for years on here that you can’t live in peace with whorns fans. They’re like the British Empire who forget their dynasty ended about 250 years ago. I’ve witnessed it a bit on tRant. But it’s about to get real.

But, somehow, the little airport has a Hilton inside it, and it and the Nashville hotels support NFL and NHL games at the same as well as 250k people for CMAs every year. Why do people talk about what they don't know?
\\

I don't know why you'd do it but its a well known fact that Nashville is suffering greatly in attracting events due to a lack of hotel rooms.

NFL Game crowds consist mainly of people who LIVE in the metro area...they do not need an airport or a hotel. The same is true of NHL Games. I know nothing about the CMAs BUT I would posit that it is Nashville's largest single industry and when they have an event the city is probably more or less dedicated to supporting the industry that supports the city every day. They majority of that crowd probably also lives in Nashville since Nashville is the epicenter of recording in the US outside of Los Angeles. Augusta Georgia hosts the Masters which draws somewhere in the neighborhood of 2 million people over a 6 day period, most of whom do not live ANYWHERE near Augusta. GOOD luck scheduling ANY other event in Augusta that week...you won't be able to. Augusta's airport is smaller than Nashvilles. Much smaller. Nashville has been named several years running as the metro area in the US with the highest priced hotel rooms...higher than New York and even San Francisco. This is actually a pretty well known fact...spending the night in Nashville is VERY expensive compared to ANY city in the US...compared to comparable cities it is staggeringly expensive.

Atlanta has been hosting super events for years...it is one of the largest convention cities in the world. It is routinely in the top 10 destinations worldwide for convention planners and usually takes the top spot in the US. It is the 80th most visited city on the planet....Nashville is not in the top 500. There simply is no comparison, if youre going to have a crowd Atlanta is as good as it gets at handling crowds and doing so affordably.

It's actually wrong. Yes, Nashville is expensive for hotels but it's not in the top 5, let alone #1.

I think you are the only person in the world that believes Nashville has a hard time attracting events.

Your well known "facts" are actually opinions.

The best SECCGs were the first two… played outside… when men were men… people really wanted to see the game and weren’t afraid to sit on freezing arse bleachers… everything since has been pussified, particularly when Alabama had to play ga with their whiney assed fans

Roll Tide.

Most Expernsive Motels in Nation

Nashville Hotel Boom Can't Keep up WIth Demand

Nashville Full Bookings Exceed National Average by 300%

About 10 minutes of the google machine indicates that many people in the hospitality industry in Nashville are well aware of the constraints a lack of hotel rooms and sagging construction of hotel rooms represent. Anyone who has booked a room in Nashville in the last 10 years is well aware of the costs of a hotel in Nashville, the highest on average of any city in the US. Its the 6th highest according to USA Today and the highest according to TripAdviser and Conde Naste. Even at the 6th highest it is far higher than Atlanta and it is a problem for tourism in Nashville...according to the entirety of the Nashville tourist industry, not just me.

Possible won’t be an SEC or any conference in football for the blue chip schools. Title 9 and the right to negotiate your worth will be upheld by the courts.

Ross Dellenger says schools may be on hook for $20-30 mil. I laughed when I heard that. Was this from the same people being sued? Is this their idea of controlling the narrative ? I think so.

Reality is no one knows how much. How could they. I continue to ponder where is the money going to come from? As popular as Michigan, Ohio St , Alabama, ND etc, are, the typical NFL fan who is not into college ball does not care and does not watch on regular basis.

How would you get more Non college watching NFL fans to watch?

You create a 32 team College Football League where investment groups buy into the new league to own a part of the Michigan or Alabama team. A percentage of ownership would remain within each schools big money donor class and others willing to buy stock.

New league sells it tv rights, merchandising rights etc and splits evenly.

Setup exactly like NFL with several requirements of Employment.
No free agency for xx years.
Anything goes after xx years
Must remain in school and making progress toward degree.
Must graduate within 4 years. Employment contract for 4 years with option for grad school
School provides same benefits as NFL.
No more recruiting. A week long draft every year with all the hoopla the NFL does now.

Games played in prime time on Saturday and Saturday night just like current NFL.

I’m getting long winded so I’ll stop. Sure many of you are clapping

So yes, there won’t be football as we know it in 8 years

You mean move it from the city where the College Football Hall of Fame is located?
That makes sense.

Moving media days here was a good start. The SEC is killing itself with these long term stadium and media contracts. It could be worse(ACC).

The only one who would benefit from moving the game to Jerry world would be Jerry himself. He’d love that.

The first article is 10 years old. The second article is 5 years old, and the next two talk about how Nashville's hotels are "surging". Since your second article was written, Nashville added over 90 hotels.

Dude, you're just wrong.

Nashville does not have the airport, is 3 hours from Birmingham, and certainly does not have the hotels (you can stay in a 4 star hotel in Manhattan for about the same money as a Motel 6 in Nashville).

Nashville has enough of everything. Come on, man.

Neither city really appeals to me in any way. They're both just parking lots and shopping centers.
