I'm surprised this isn't garnering more attention, but it seems as if an SEC team has already been caught with a live video monitor in their dugout for their home games.

LINK /

This on the heels of a Georgia pitcher getting caught on camera putting a substance all over his glove in the bullpen last weekend too.

Mik'd Up was breaking this whole thing down on their show and put up the home vs away splits in batting average for several SEC teams, some were pretty glaring.

They also brought up something I didn't think much of at the time, but when we played Miss State at their place, they had a batter that had an ear piece fall out during an at-bat.

I have so many questions. Is an ear piece for a batter legal? Does college baseball/SEC have rules in place against video monitoring? Does college baseball/SEC have rules in place against "sticky stuff"?

I seem to remember some video of Florida pitchers going to town spraying their hands and arms with some substance in the bullpen last year also.

With bluetooth technology as advanced as it is today.. an earpiece and/or wristband and/or leg strap and/or patch or whatever would be pretty easy to use imo..

They say in baseball..
"If you aren't cheating, then you aren't trying.."

Truth be told.. this is PROLLY happening on some level at some schools..

It is my opinion that Schloss was talking about State when he made the comments..
1) They have a large discrepancy between road/home splits during SEC play
2) The earpiece issue as you said above

It could be another team like Arkansas like has been mentioned, but their SEC splits aren't that different than most other teams. On the season, yes, there is a wider gap, but that is primarily because their Non-Conference games are against much weaker opponents..

Either way, I doubt Schloss just made it up.. but I have no idea who he was talking about.. but it could just be a little bit of posturing to take some of the heat off of his #1 team.

Don't see a problem with this

I was looking this up earlier in the week and couldn’t find anything as defined as what the MLB has. I think there’s a general stated rule against wetting the ball and using foreign substances but is there something generally accepted vs not (Ex. Sunscreen and rosin is ignored but pine tar/spider tack is a no no)?

I’d like to ask a point of clarification on Schloss’s comments:

When he says “live video feed,” is he saying that a home team is spying on the visiting team’s dugout?

Schloss said the cheating team had a split like .306 and .206. I did the math.

As of April 6th Arkansas splits were .306 at home and .204 away/neutral.

Schloss also made it sound like it happened a few weeks ago which lines up.

Since then Arkansas splits have changed to .282 at home and .199 away.

"These comments from Schlossnagle come on the heels of another possible cheating scandal in the SEC. Georgia relief pitcher Christian Mracna was seemingly caught applying a foreign substance to his glove before entering the game against A&M last weekend.

“Certainly appears that way,” Schlossnagle told The Associated Press when asked about Mracna. “It’s part of the game … wish we would’ve caught it.”"

So, he DID cheat or he DID NOT cheat? "Wish we would have caught it" seems to DEBUNK the video posted on here.
