Holt is the definition of a baseball player. He’s played shortstop, 3rd and now left field and played each position very well. Plus he’s a very good hitter. Everything you want in a player.

That or he just thought he could outrun the ball traveling to third then the relay home once he realized what was happening, but that doesn't seem very likely.

Someone please explain to me what I just watched 5 times. A guy catch the ball, then throws it the third baseman, who throws it to home to tag a guy out.
What am I missing?

The runner can’t advance until the ball is caught. The runner went with the fake and then had to turn back to third to make it a legal tag up. Then the runner still tried to take home and ended up getting out.

Exactly. Looked like he caught the ball above his head but actually caught it about the belt.

I did the same. I kept expecting the pump fake to be on the throw, not the catch. Took me awhile.
