2nd Spurrier
3rd Kirby
4th Meyer
5th I'd say Fulmer, Stallings and Richt are tied.
What hurts Fulmer he was fired others retired or left. Fulmer was actually fired twice.

Ranking Spurrier vs. Meyer is tough and probably depends on how much you weigh for consistency.
Meyer won 2 national championships in 6 years, but he had some clunkers and only had back-to-back 10 win seasons once. Had 3 SEC East titles and two national titles.
Two national championships in 6 years is still awfully strong though.

On another note, Gary Pinkel would probably be top 10. Gary Pinkel was a badass.

Meyer is above Kirby - he showed consistency at multiple schools. He's a corrupt a-hole, but a good coach. Kirby could move up the list over time. There really isn't a fifth on this list worth considering.

I feel like Spurrier gets the W over Meyer simply because Spurrier's legacy was much more impactful to the conference as a whole. Sure...he may have won only one national championship, but he changed the way offenses were ran in the Southeastern Conference.

1. Saban
2. Kirby
3. Meyer
4. Spurrier
5. Miles (won a title and played for another) Definitely had some head scratchers with time management but he gets the slight edge over Fulmer for the 5th spot.

MILES had a losing record to Alabama.

Miles in the top 5

Who didn't? Miles and Malzahn won more games against Saban when he was at Alabama than any other coach. And Miles has the highest winning percentage of any LSU coach post integration. He won 1 national championship, played for another, and won 2 SEC championships at LSU. He's an easy target because he comes across as the crazy uncle type, but he got results. Whether he's top 5 is debatable, but he's up there.

Meyer and Kirby both are above Spurrier!

I would rank spurier behind kirby and meyer. Sure he was innovative and won a title but if coming close is a feature richt and Fulmer should be higher

I would have Kirby second and spurier third. Results or not Meyer turned out to be too big of a scumbag to be on any list.

Why would Kirby change schools? You're telling me if he stays at Georgia for the next say 20 years and wins 10 national championships, it doesn't matter because he only did it at Georgia?
That doesn't make sense. He's as good of a coach at 1 school as he is at any school. He was able to go into a top job and have success right away because he spent a decade learning from the best.
All Meyer ever did was use up programs for short term success, leaving behind issues for the next coach to deal with.

I don’t think it’s comparable. It was a lot harder to win a national title from the SEC in Spurrier’s time than in Kirby’s time.

Florida wasn't shite until Spurrier coached there. They never had a 10 win season in their entire history until Spurriers 2nd season, and they had 9 seasons with 10 or more wins in the 12 years he was there. The other 3 were all 9 win seasons.
You're crazy. I'll take Spurrier over Meyer without a 2nd thought. Enjoy the guy that uses up the program and then fakes health issues to skip out on it.

I agree. I always appreciated Spurrier for changing the game. Meyer was great but I just didn’t like him personally. Even after coaching Spurrier is way more likable.
