Have you ever heard of Mack Brown and his ability to recruit? It's ain't the problem.

Wow, it proves it? Good old Texas State.

I don’t know what Texas State has to do with your football team but ok? My take is pretty reasonable. You were down double digits in the 4th Q to a team that got waxed in the title game. Going 9-3/10-2 in your first year in the SEC seems like a pretty successful start.

They are just pissed that they cannot beat DeBoer and he moved to Alabama. They want "respect". Actually, they would prefer to skip the season and go straight to the title game. You talk to any horn fan, and they will tell you they should have beaten Washington. Never mind, they couldn't do so two years in a row.

I'm a longhorn fan and thought Washington was the better team. And they showed it. I don't think there's any shame in losing a tight game to a team that finished 14-1 and had multiple high draft picks on offense.
Dan Lanning "cannot beat DeBoer" either, but I'd still consider him a terrific coach and Oregon a program in great shape.
As Josh Pate would say: "just because somebody hasn't done something yet doesn't mean they can't."

I think that is a fair take. Surprising, but absolutely fair. DeBoer can coach, and he will have a lot more talent at Alabama. Can he handle the expectations? Remains to be seen
Nobody said Texas isn't in great shape. They simply said they aren't winning two of the next three titles. I could see them maybe winning one of them. But the defense has to be completely rebuilt.

If you say so. The defense was pretty potent last year. Texas needs more DL, but in today's portal age, who doesn't.
It's a little strange that people will discount Arch's performance because it was a spring game, but then automatically assume that the defense in the spring game is a legitimate visual of what's to come in the fall lol

The defense was weak in the secondary last year, and is again this year. WA exploited the hell out of that secondary. So did Sarkisian in the spring game.
Hell, A&M could magically find an OL in the next few months but the odds are against it.

Program probably had more resources at the ready for the last 40 years and got 1 title out of it.

"NIL has taken hold..."
Here's what you and a few other idiot fans are ignoring. The NIL is NOT just for your team! UGA and Bama and Ohio st and a few other teams consistently recruit better than Texas. And here's what you're ignoring....we can use the NIL just like Texas or any other team can. You act like its some secret cheat code for your team, but UGA has used it to get star WRs and other players. So, why do you think a team that has been just a mediocre team for the last decade is going to just walk into the toughest conference in the country and dominate teams like UGA and Bama and others that recruit better, have more talent and have been playing in the playoffs and for the NC for years now while Texas has been lucky to make it to the 'Whatever Bowl'? That isn't just drinking the koolaid, that's dumb.

We don't have to dominate Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State to win a title. We just have to beat them every now and then, which is perfectly doable, as we saw last season. Hell you lost to Tom Herman's Texas in 2018.
We're only getting more talented. SEC patch + Texas NIL + a decent coach will boost Texas's recruiting, as we've already seen. This will put Texas right in the thick of it with the programs you mention.
Ask the Aggies why they were so upset when the Texas/OU news broke in 2021. They'll say something stupid like "Texas is a bad business partner," but the real reason is they know Texas in the SEC can be a beast of a program on par with the top SEC programs.

2018? You're kidding, right? You don't know how cfb ages do you? Dogs age 7 years to 1 human year. CFB ages about 10 years to 1 human year. That means that the UGA loss to Texas happened about 70 years ago!
Don't believe me? Let ol Sark have a losing season this year and see how quickly your fanbase will forget about that 12-2 season last year. THEN you'll see what I'm saying is true. That playoff appearance will suddenly seem like it happened during the Jurassic age.

This is why the B1G vs SEC comparison is a myth. The SEC has much more competition for NCs and always has. BAMA, Florida, Georgia, LSU, The Barn, in this century alone. Many more if you want to take it further back. You jumped into a hornet's nest.
The B1G had Michigan and Ohio State pretty much since World War II and that is it. It was truly the Big 2 and Little 8 for decades.

you can't even be consistent in successive posts. Does 10 years ago matter or not?

OP, I'll believe it when I see it. I believe too much pressure and egos for it to happen. Sark looks like he is in a pressure cooker now.

So Texas won't win a title in the SEC because more teams in the SEC have won a title. But, how did more teams win a title? Is "6" the magic number of teams? This argument makes zero sense.
I'd argue it's more difficult to win a title in the B1G because you know, it hardly ever happens, and when it does, it's Ohio State or Michigan.

WA exploited the hell out of that secondary.
Washington scored about the same amount of points they did against Texas as they did both times in their games against Oregon, and that was with a 6-year Covid QB who will be a first round pick (and who in years past, would have been in his 3rd NFL season) who was throwing to multiple future NFL WRs, one of whom is about to be drafted in the top 10 picks. Washington exploited "the hell" out of USC and Cal, but Texas was close to winning that game.
The Texas DBs will be much improved this season. You will likely be a believer after the Texas/Georgie game.
