We upgraded the pg spot. I don’t see the issue here. There wasn’t room for Aden. Bama had the room.

Sears shot 28% from three as a freshman. You aubs can trash the kid all you want but he fits better in oats system. He may or may not be a star but he definitely will be more free to play the way he did in highschool when he was an McDonalds AA.
There's no doubt most aubs wanted him gone , he knew it as well so him wanting to go to bama tells me he wants to prove his worth and rub it in your faces. Kind of makes me like him already.

He probably does fit better In the Bama O. I preferred Tre to Aden all day long. He could hold his own and take it to the lane. Aden is weak, timid and not an alpha.

Kid could be a very good player but him acting like Bruce did him dirty is pretty pathetic. He was a starter on a team that won 27 games and the SEC tourney despite his inconsistent play.
Bruce bent over backwards to get him shots and keep him involved. He just was bad a lot of the time and a liability on defense. He was third on the team in shot attempts and had the most 3 point attempts. Best of luck to the kid but trying to blame the coach and not himself is a pretty bad look.

I don't care either way. I wasn't pushing for him to leave as I think he has some talent and could come good. But in the modern era, it doesn't surprise me he'd leave to see if a fresh start will help him since we recruited over him.
I would object to any insinuation by him or his family that we wronged him in some fashion - Bruce gave him the starting role for way longer than he deserved and despite ample opportunity he never really took advantage of the opportunity. No ill will from me as I don't think he did anything wrong, he just never really got anything going.

He’s got talent.
He is not a plug and play for “Sears.”
IF he works diligently improving his at the rim finishes, open threes, and breaking double teams, Aden could live up to his talent.
He was given every opportunity to produce at Auburn. He never quite got on track.
His comments may reflect him never having to deal with failure before in basketball. Some guys struggle and blame others. Some guys man up and get better.
He may get better, but he may not.
Aden has a lot of work to do to get on a draft board as a small guard. The problems are not insurmountable. The work will have to be done by him.
Oats is a good coach. Pearl is a good coach. Neither of them can shoot the ball for him or increase his physicality. The hard work of improving will be up to Aden.

I hope he is 6-7, he held us way back this year and will do the same to Bama. Kid is arse

I would have been fine with supporting Aden on his transfer, but then he committed to Bama and made a whole bunch of comments. Not sure why he wanted to go and do that when he knows he has to play in Neville next year.
As for whether Aden will hit his potential or not: Probably but we have no clue if it will be at Bama or not. He has now chosen three different HS's and two different colleges. 5 straight transfers. All that said, there is potential in his game. His quick stroke and his moves around the three-point line can be deadly. Last year at Auburn did not work out great, but he was young and inexperienced, but he started regardless. To be frank Aden looked like he was 16 playing with a bunch of grown men. Aden just quite frankly wasn't good. He had the third most shot attempts but the 11th best FG percentage. Guards like him (Aden 0-7, 0-5 from 3 in Tuscaloosa) were playing poorly but they were still expecting their shot anyway even though Broome and Jaylin were working like Batman and Robin against Bama. That kind of play is what allowed Bama to steal one even though Auburn clearly had the better team as Bama did not have a prayer to stop Broome and Williams.
Summary: He is still a potential star but he is an idiot that needlessly burnt bridges with the comments.

He’s young and there are no adults in the room.

Gotta love all you idiots telling us how bad of a player he is, yet you didn't care about him

Will Aden? Let's hope so

Auburn has a very strong roster next year. Literally addition by subtraction.
I wish Aden the best.

I wish he would have stayed and developed his talent

Why doesn't the SEC to SEC no transfer rule apply to basketball players?

I think it may but with different timeline on what portal windows are available. this is the early window in cbb like December in cfb.

Sometimes fit is key. He seems more like an Oats guard than Pearl guard tbh. Pearl seems to want his guards to be shooters and late shot clock scorers...and you've got to be mature to be efficient when the offense flows through the front court early in a set.

Don’t think it’s a system thing for him. Aden was missing wide open catch and shoot threes. It’s just a confidence issue. He’ll probably turn it around at some point because the shot and release are fine. Bruce still made him an all freshman team player in a really good SEC despite his struggles scoring and on defense.

I think Bruce told Aden a while back that we would have to go get a portal PG as security blanket since Aden was so up and down all season - not to mention complete arse against Yale. Have to have more stability. Aden got pissed about not being guaranteed to be “the guy” hence the comments.
He could still be a great player, and probably a win-win for both parties here. I think we upgraded with Pegues and he gets a fresh start at Bama now with experience.
He will get absolutely roasted in Neville next year though lol
