Oats isn't going to get him any more open. It isn't like he was shooting contested 3's. What Oats needs to teach him is how to make better than 1 out of every 4 shots at the rim.

Been an elite shooter all his life and shot well up until conference play. Call the 2nd half of the season the yips, immaturity, small sample size, whatever. Not worried about him being an effective 3 point shooter here
The difference between him being mediocre and good for us is, as many have said, finishing at the rim.

I have simply stated, numerous times, I was ecstatic when I heard he was transferring. The fact he wound up at bama is the cherry on top. We wasted a roster spot and a hell of a lot of NIL on him last year. You are wasting a roster spot and I am quite certain not as much NIL..........but some.
ETA the fact you bama fans are so insecure that I am saying Oats bought a lemon is adding to the euphoria.

Honestly, I’m pretty indifferent. Either he stinks and Auburn will say “we told you so” at the end of the season (which he probably won’t play much and will transfer again), or he’ll play well and be the most tangible/vocal recruiter for Bama and against the Barn for years to come. I completely trust Oats and seems smart to take a chance since the impact of the latter would be far greater than the impact of the former.

The fact that there is a non-zero chance that this could be true has a lot of AU fans deep in their feels right now.
There are 13 roster spots and only 9-10 can play consistently. I don’t think Oats is concerned if he ends up being 11-13 but if he ends up being #6-7, the melt will be glorious.
