Aden Holloway a former 5-star prep guard who played for Auburn last year is expected to visit Alabama Thursday. Holloway is one of the most sought-after guards in the portal. Bama basketball is as hot as any program in the country right now.

I was hoping we could hang on to Aden, but he was definitely a bust for us in his freshman year. McDonald's All American to full on headcase. Wish him the best.

there is a reason Auburn is not upset he left

Would like to see what he could do under a coach who is better at developing guards. He's hardly the first guard to look like absolute shite under Pearl in recent years. It's been a big problem for Auburn's program and is a big reason why they've failed to make it out of the first weekend this decade.

I hear you, but it is evident that he hasn't been able to make the adjustments needed coming from high school ball. Like with any sport, it happens at times. No need to get defensive. He could blossom. Carry on.

Not really sure on that, he seemed to struggle with confidence a lot this year and was not happy when not a starter (not a bad thing). I just know that BP and Auburn knew this was coming before the season ended and really didnt do much to keep him.

This is kinda overplayed. Our pg before Aden was a transfer from EKU who was 5 foot 10 and Pearl turned him into an All SEC player.
There have been a couple recruiting misses that have hurt us at guard but it's not like BP isn't doing a good job with them.

If he’s willing to come off the bench, sure why not. Should never start over Sears, Wrightsell, Youngblood, or Mallette

Amusing that you would say I'm the one in this thread being defensive.

Fans of a certain school on the other hand are being VERY defensive.

I would've liked him to stay and develop, but the way college ball is these days this was probably inevitable

Can’t blame the kid though. Oats is arguably the best in the country developing guards. Would be a great upgrade for him after a toxic first season at Auburn.

Until that last part, I thought you were talking about Bruce Pearl.

Nothing at all. But I don’t think he should start even if Wrightsell and Sears leave

Unlike Oats, Pearl never throws his team under the bus and shoves other teams players.
Nate Oats’ actions were unacceptable and violated the expectations for conduct and sportsmanship as established by the membership of the Southeastern Conference,” said Sankey. “Under no circumstances should a coach make intentional contact with a student-athlete on an opposing team.”

I doubt he's returning. Whispers say he's not coming back.

Wrightsell
More of a 2 guard than a ball handler.

Youngblood, or Mallette
Aden is like 6'-6'1", so he's not taking minutes away from those guys.

No. He just makes up rumors about recruits and tries to run their career because they didn't sign with him. Illinois fans would be glad to tell you about Pearl.

Is it because he's too fat to bend down that far?
