I might be wrong on this but I think I've seen UK posters say Cal got upset because the AD was giving more financial support to other programs like football.

I mean, if you have a coach with a life contract and then you have a coach that literally brought UK football from the dead to actually good, I’d be upset too. I think at the moment, more people still hinge on basketball because they are considered a blue blood. Like I said in another thread, it’s crazy that getting top 5 class can’t pull a win out in the first round…
