If UGA couldn’t pay players it wouldn’t have much of their roster. Walker was paid to attend UGA (1980 title and run) and Kirby is coaching a roster of paid players since he got to UGA. You don’t believe those recruiting classes are anything but bought do you? Pruitt half assed buying recruits that UGA paid full price for. Mimms was just one of dozens of bought and paid for recruits from those years.

fricking hypocrite.

There's a reason UGA wasn't being investigated for buying players and Tennessee was.

It's not because of some conspiracy theory about UGA owning the NCAA. The simple truth is UGA didn't buy players and Tennessee did.

UGA did buy Hershcel Walker a camaro though. But that was 40+ years ago. UGA has never been even rumored as one of the schools that paid players. Most of our issues have been players getting in trouble for trying to get money like players selling autographs, game jerseys or championship rings.

That's what happens when schools DON'T pay their players and they try to get money in other ways.

I'm constantly amused by the accusations of buying players when even rumors of such behavior are difficult to find, let alone actual evidence of anything.

I guess if it makes you feel better to think UGA's success comes from cheating you're welcome to do so. It's just amusing that the actual evidence of cheating points to your program.

UGA hasn't had a recruiting class ranked outside the Top 3 nationally since 2017 after Saban's #1 pupil arrived. That's statistically impossible unless you're buying players. You can lie to yourself if you want but everyone knows what's happening.

Dude don’t be stupid or that naive. UGA was doing it. Turned the Vols in for doing it to avoid scrutiny. I know for an absolute fact Mimms was given 180,000 to go to UGA. Pruitt offered him 80k and paid him 20k but UGA gave him move upfront money to go to UGA.

Nobody wanted the Pruitt fumbling of paying recruits to go public because it would have caught up Oklahoma, UGA, Bama, Baylor and a couple others in the fallout. The amounts discussed were only Pruitt and staff direct payout. The TE coach was getting funds from 2 boosters to do the real money.
