I'm from Huntsville. I would love for you folks to move here as this place is being overrun by Barners.
It may very well be my late career move but I'm in too deep in the state retirement system.

Huntsville is an interesting city because a large part of the metro area population actually lives in the city itself whereas most of the Birmingham metro area lives outside of the Birmingham city limits.
I think that speaks to the city's ability to be inviting and avoid people deciding to commute from the country-side.
And the city's push for annexation of new land. Huntsville is very spread out for a city it's size (population).

Well they sued and won, so now they can't blame us anymore because they still aren't getting in.

The current players, probably not. If the message spreads and is consistently preached from now on, it will have long standing impacts in years to come.
There have been decrees like this before...no impact. Regardless, where HS football players go to play college ball should have zero impact on public policy

It's impossible to be a good mayor of Birmingham. There literally is nothing inside the city limits that inspires. Maybe a few downtown areas near the Civic Center and possibly some areas near Avondale are OK, but otherwise the city is just being drained by a huge number of low life government dependent people
It was considered one of the best southern cities until the 1960s. What destroyed it was policy. Policy can be changed.

It's why my mid-sized company can't keep qualified minorities; bigger industry competitors throw obscene amounts of cash at them because they carry extra value to them on a DEI scorecard. It also does a disservice to them because people wrongly assume they were hired based on something other than merit.
Well they sued and won
Which goes back to the original post about Woodfin's apparent belief that minorities can't succeed in a meritocracy.

Again, with the history of the state, the south, and the country I don't trust that we can either. We have literal history to prove that we will not be treated fairly

Well if what you are saying is true(its not) than there is no point in trying. There is no appetite for DEI nonsense anymore amongst the general public and its implementation has been a disaster. If a black person thinks they cant get a fair shake where they live, it makes sense to go elsewhere.

Sports at the University of Alabama are not more important than removing DEI from schools. I'm fine never winning another game in any sport.

So your answer to racism is.......racism? Because that's what DEI is. Hiring someone not for their sklls, but for their skin color.

That stupid bastard's advisors need to explain (if possible) what the political ramifications would be on his political future, if he attempted that.

It's not racism to make someone that is hiring for a position take a look at all qualified candidates instead of the few that fit their racially preference.

I can speak for me and all the other black alums of Alabama that I know personally, we wouldn't care if Alabama stopped being competitive in sports without black athletes.

This goes against DEI initiatives. You don't even know what DEI is.

Alabama will never stop having black athletes. You and Woodfin are both overstating his importance if you believe he has this sort of sway.
