Dying from touching a peanut does seem to be a recent development. You would think that if it were such a deadly epidemic, you’d actually hear about people dying from it every once in a while. But I can’t recall when I have heard that.

It does seem that a LOT of the kids that have peanut allergies would find something else to be victimized by if it weren’t for the peanut.

About 12 or 13 years ago my oldest kid had a classmate who had bad peanut allergy. Had to carry an epipen everywhere during the school day. There was a no peanut rule for the whole class meaning no foods for anyone's lunches with food containing peanuts. I was always kind of annoyed that my wife and I had to be so cautious that year when packing lunch boxes. But, at the Valentines Day Party some mom sent in cookies that she'd put Reeces mini peanut butter cups on top of each cookie. She realized her mistake and pulled off the peanut butter cups off of the cookies and sent the cookies to school anyway without telling anyone about it. The peanut allergy kid ended up going into anaphylactic shock at the school party due that the peanut exposure. Almost died and had to be in icu. I stopped being such a judgemental prick after that.

You are an idiot. Both of my older brothers have peanut allergies and I have seen them firsthand get hold of a nut in their food not just peanuts any kind of nut their throat swells up their face turns red and then their throat gets very constricted. One of my brothers is 70 years old. My other brother is 68 years old so no it’s not a new thing you fricking douche bag.

"I've never heard of this thing that I put absolutely zero effort into researching so it's #fakenews and someone just wants to be victimized".

There are some seriously fricking stupid people on this board.

Peanuts can kill my youngest boy. If he eats them for sure. If he touches them, he does have a severe allergic reaction. It happens. He's also tough as nails and competes at a high level in Muay Thai and jiu-jitsu. That whole "It does seem that a LOT of the kids that have peanut allergies would find something else to be victimized by if it weren’t for the peanut" is bullshite.

Even for you this is a phenomenally stupid comment.

You do grasp that a lot of studies have shown that this increase in peanut allergies are likely due to environmental factors and living conditions as opposed to some fairy tail that "kids get allergies because they are all just pussies". Implying that some kid's throat closing up when they touch a peanut is just because the kid has some "victimhood mentality" is beyond retarded. It's not some psychosomatic response.
