Honestly, for those that ventured, how much is Tuscaloosa a chit hole?

The campus is pretty decent other than constant construction that never ends. Once you actually venture into downtown Tuscaloosa, you’re likely to be met with vagrancy, buildings that are still standing but haven’t been operational since the tornado, and deteriorating apartment complexes stacked on top of one another. There’s a few shopping malls that play well to certain demographics. It’s like most urban areas, except smaller and with less to do.

But fortunately, if you ever get so depressed from living there that you can’t stand life anymore, you can jump off the cliff at Lake Nicol.

Honestly, I lived there for 3 years. It did kind of suck. That being said i had a lot of fun and met great people.

When I lived there, in the early 90's, it was common to see police helicopters circling and spotlighting the "apartments" near where I lived........it's gotten worse.

Better than going to Nashville and getting molested by bridal parties and gays.

I lived there from 2014–2020. Very common to see those helicopters. And in many cases, TPD is corrupt and on the take.

Baton Rouge is more tolerable than Tuscaloosa, and that’s hard to say
