A good few years? Sure.

A dynasty?

No way.

No. We just have 2 of the last 3 National Titles. Dynasty is built over a 7-10 year period. Still work to do to be considered a dynasty.

IMHO A dynasty doesn't exist until a team are in or near the title hunt every for at about 5 years. Georgia hasn't established itself yet.

That’s not what a dynasty is, but that is what uga is.

UGA hasn’t done that the last 5 years? That’s not what a dynasty is in most opinions either way.

full disclosure: I do not consider UGA a dynasty. However, based on the bolded part of what you yourself wrote above, we woudl unequivocally be one.

2017: made playoffs
2018: 5 minutes away from playoffs
2019: 1 game away from playoffs (although honestly had no shot in reality)
2020: no chance at playoffs
2021: made playoffs (won title)
2022: made playoffs (won title)
2023: 1 game away from playoffs

Again, I personally don't call us a dynasty. But if you just want to go by your own criteria, it'd be hard to say that we haven't been "near the title hunt" 6 of the last 7 years.

We're closer to a dynasty than Bama is right now, that's all I know.

Ranked 5th on selection day.

It sure wasn't that way in 2017 and 2011.

Alabama won the SEC in 09, 12, 14, 15, 16, 18. LoL

That dynasty doesn’t have a lack of SEC Championships like UGA’s “dynasty”.

I think they are close but not there yet.

Another NC in the next 2-3 years needed.

IMO Minimum:

-Must average at least half the national championships in the span of dynasty time (minimum of three)
-Must average at least half the conference championships in the span of dynasty time (minimum of three)
-Must have a winning percentage of at least 0.846 (11-2)

Georgia has hit only 1 of these I believe. They'd have to win a NC in the next 3 years and win 2 conference championships in that span to be a dynasty imo.

we were 60 minutes away from making the playoffs. I'm curious what you'd call "near" the hunt if that doesn't qualify.

When UGA wins the National Championship this year, I will consider them at the beginning of a dynasty. The Bama dynasty ended after the Covid championship.

For the last time, NO.

Question: Are the Kansas City Chiefs a dynasty? If they win one more Super Bowl, will they be? Same for Georgia football.

Three is the magic number.

Didn't Saban have 3 losses his 4th year at Bama too? 10-3 or something?

Also, nobody was beating that LSU team, but we finished #5 with a Cro-Magnon level offense and one of the worst home losses in years.
