This level of cope is just weird. Even Saban denied his retirement rumors and everyone on here would mock the idea. We all thought he would go for another 2 or 3 years and he wasn't going into homes telling parents he may not be around in a couple of weeks.

all I can say is we need a QB who's a good decision maker, and leaving a band offense that's going to be run by deboer and grub to go play in one led by Bill o Buttchin is rock solid proof that Sayin isn't a good decision maker. I'm just glad he and downs didn't go somewhere they were gonna do us some damage
Couldn't agree more. People are getting all twisted up about a dude that didn't throw for 2500 yards as a Senior qb in CA beach town football. Austin Mack threw for 3500 yards as a Jr. And why? Because he won some qb competition throwing passes defended by air.

that is like saying Marino never won SuperBowl

He didn't win a superbowl. He was fantastic, but i think the majority of dolphin fans would trade him for a superbowl win during his career.

You're really reaching with this. Some damn good quarterbacks on that list.

But that still doesn’t justify what you said that he basically lied to Sayin.
And you could be lying yourself about being recruited, you could be some fat chic with a dick for all I know

How was it a lie? Did Saban not deny on TV and did not everyone around the program including fans not deny he was retiring soon?
Seriously this is too much cope even for fans.

Yes. Maybe Sayin will go to OhioSt and throw for 10k yards and win zero natties. That'd be like Dan Marino.
Maybe Mack will be like Eli Manning. Win just enough to get to the playoffs and win when it matters. I know which qb I'd like to have.

And there's some trash QB's that went to the Elite 11 and didn't win the thing. Why don't you name all those? Ten elite QB's a year vs. one elite QB is pretty good odds for one of the ten ending up the QB of a national champion.
Let's quit crying about it and finding stupid reasons to justify Sayin not being a loss.

Because you can go to Wikipedia and look at it just like I did. My point is that the Elite 11 is littered with qbs that didn't turn out to be the studs that their star ranking predicted them to be. I'm merely suggesting that winning the Elite 11 means exactly jack shite.
You can cry over Sayin all you want. Facts are, the dude played in a weak division, threw for less than 2500 yards as a Sr in high school, and just hooked his future to Bill O'Brien. Forgive me if I'm a little skeptical of the hype surrounding him.

All I know is that following Mack at Bama and Sayin at Ohio State will be very interesting in the future.
Wouldn’t be surprised at all if both players end up really good in college.
Both things can be true. DeBoer and his staff probably wanted Sayin to stay and compete but they also didn’t want to lose the guy they believe in with Mack. The guy they developed.
Tough situation but I don’t blame DeBoer if he thinks Austin Mack is legit and I don’t blame Sayin for feeling forced out.
If a new staff was hired and they brought their guy over then you’re going to naturally feel like you’re already behind in the competition.

Well, no shite. Some first round draft picks don’t pan out. Does that mean (generally) you might as well trade for a fourth rounder? Might as well fill a college roster with 2-3 stars instead of 4-5 stars?
Your point is dumb.

I don’t give a flying frick where Sayin or Mack or Downs any other kid goes to school. I just like watching football games. Don’t care who plays for who.

If you look at the Pro Bowl QBs this year all of the AFC guys were first round picks. The NFC QBs have a 6th rounder (Purdy), 4th rounder (Dak), and a 1st rounder (Stafford).
So 66% of the Pro Bowl QBs were 1st rounders.
So 66% of the Pro Bowl QBs were 1st rounders.

That might be true, but Mahomes was a 3*, as were Purdy and Prescott and Josh Allen was a 0* coming out of high school. Allen's only offer was Wyoming.
Yes, you can win with 3* & 4* guys.
What made Saban great was his ability to recruit and stack talent. BAMA isn't going to win like that anymore. The sooner people stop getting their panties twisted about star rankings, the better they'll feel about this team moving forward imo.
