You’re woefully underestimating the level of delusion prevalent among the Bammers. They’re a cult. They’ll cling to hope in Bama like they’re Adolf Hitler in the Führerbunker and DeBoer is in command of 9th Army south of Berlin.

I know the Bama hate is strong here, and I don’t blame you for it. But take your hatred away for a second. If the rumors are true that Georgia and OSU are in a bidding war for a college player, and that this bidding war has already gone over the million dollar mark for a season, then college football as we have known it and loved it is dead.
The rest of us have understood this for awhile.

Gotta ask you this. Alabama has, according to 247, had the #1 most talented roster in the country for the past 5-6 years in a row. If DeBoer is a better game day coach, why will it take you that long to get to the "Watch out!" stage?

Here’s the reason people are giving you shite.
We’ve all been saying this for years & now y’all ready to talk about it.

Yep, Bama fans wept when I pointed out what a terrible product college football has become. Now they are posting the same thing.

I can't wait till they go back to the Pre-Saban days.
When will some of you realize the decade pre Saban was a historical anomaly in the annals of Alabama football. If Bama "regresses to the mean" of what they have been historically, they will still be an elite program.

Categorically untrue.
Bear/Saban regimes are the deviation from the norm.

I mean congrats on everyone's W I guess. Is everyone really happy knowing that the school you graduated from and have pride in is just a stepping stone and paycheck to the players now? Your team's best players are always gonna be subject offers from some uber rich guy with box seats in your rival's stadium. This is a melt over the loss of CFB more than Bama. I still loved CFB when Bama was in the dumpster 20 years ago

Transfer portal barely has any limitations, which means players have no obligations.
CFB revenue has been at all time highs the past decade, but ADs are now sticking their hands out to everyday fans to supplement NIL budgets… because it’s illegal for players to touch any of that actual revenue.
The NIL loophole — being a loophole — is impossible (actually illegal) for the league to regulate in any way.
The NFL, in contrast, pays players directly (as employees) & had to lobby for an antitrust exemption to allow for things like salary caps & other rules that promote and maintain parity in the league.
Since college sports are a zero sum game (there can only be one national champion)… we’ve seen coaching salaries & AD fundraising/spending inflate aggressively over the years. What do we think that means for NIL?
At this stage, even if revenue sharing is implemented — I don’t see NIL going anywhere or coming under control.
The collectives are essentially just well-organized kickstarters & as such they can do whatever they want. It’s probably only a matter of time before NIL infiltrates pro sports as a salary cap workaround.
I do agree players should be compensated, but this is excessive & was the complete wrong way to go about it.
Welcome to the shitshow.

I’m saying Ohio State did not fall off after Day… are y’all retarded?
Why would we fall off much with a good coach like Deboer?

Thats a post I made before Saban retired saying the same thing. Ive always hated the thought of Bama raiding other team's players and have always thought Bama should play the players that chose to go there out of HS

Georgia is at the top of the 'buying' hill these days.
Every bag searching 5* player seemingly lands in Ga somehow. Bad system....just a bidding game these days and Ga is out bidding most. Don't kid yourself.

I can’t speak for the younger Bama fans and how they will be affected by the new coach but for me it’s all good. I’ve been here for a while now. I have seen everyone from Bryant forward. I even say a Bama head coach meet his Destiny in Pensacola and pay the bill with a University of Alabama credit card. Hugh Freezes ain’t got nothing on us. Ha Ha!!!
All that to say if you plan on embarrassing the Tide do it quick because we will be back. And we will be taking names.

I agree with everything you said there.
It’s frustrating to see.
If there’s a bright spot, it’s that many people in the sport are making a push for revenue sharing. But what that would look like is beyond me seeing as they’ve already set up university partnered NIL collective infrastructure.

I already got a text this morning from my buddy, who's big Alabama fan, and he was ticked. He said it's one thing to lose a highly ranked player that hasn't started a game, but when you lose your best starting defensive player - who was only a true freshman last season - that doesn't bode well for the future. He stated that Downs was the No. 1 guy the staff had to keep, but he couldn't even hold onto him. I think the meltdown is starting to take place!
