Refusing to hire the best candidate over petty nonsense has a real “Pride cometh before the fall” feel to it. Our entitled boosters could be our program’s undoing.

Said this last night: if it’s not Kiffin, or someone objectively better, it means that some insane person values their marital dignity more than football.

"Best candidate" is an extremely subjective term.

Kiffin isn't getting hired because he's an immature clown that would and should be an OC somewhere if he didn't keep failing upwards. When OM goes 8-4 next year I hope everyone shuts up about his twittering arse.

Unfortunately, Kiffin is foolish and wicked, overrated, and more importantly, he's 2-19 in his career vs ranked teams. He would be a raunchy Freeze-like hire who is incapable of running a big-time quality football program, even more so, the preeminent program in college sports.

I don't know if even Alabama could get him over the hump enough to win a big football game. Almost like him as an OC under a task master (though he has fouled that up) but not as a HC.
