Where does Penix go in the draft?

Man, after watching him against TX, I thought he'd be top 15 easily.
After last night, he looks like a third rounder.
Where does this guy go in the draft? He had a magical season , but he laid a giant egg last night, didn't he?

Hopefully first round KC

He has some flaws in the way he throws the ball per scouts that might knock him. No one really lit up the Michigan defense this year so I don't think teams hold that against him, but people were overrating him as a prospect to begin with after the Texas game.

Last night could've hurt his stock a bit. He definitely looked hobbled in the 4th quarter and looked like he was playing hurt. Michigan D Line was all over him.
I still think he goes as the 4th QB taken after Williams, Maye and Daniels. Probably late 1st at best, but most likely 2nd round or later

Has a player ever dropped that far because of one game?

Crazy because the NFL raves about the ability to throw sidearmed by Hahomes(?).

He was very off last night. Missed some open receivers with a clean pocket and went to the wrong read a few times with wide open streaking receivers.
Last night definitely hurt him.
I think what hurts him most is two-fold:
1. He's pretty immobile.
2. He has a bad injury history.

I would have to find the post again, but the flaw isn't about throwing sidearm. And Mahomes doesn't side-arm everything lol

Not as high as expected. He's injury prone.

Yeah, I think that's kind of an "ability to throw off platform" thing as opposed to a primary motion.
He hurt his draft stock last night. Michigan made him move his feet with the pass rush, he showed he's not very mobile or accurate when throwing out of sync or moving. He also pulled a Caleb Williams and began acting "hurt" as the game became more out of reach. Go back and watch the other washington games this year where they were locked in a tough battle and looked like they might lose - Penix was acting hurt in those games too. It's a psychological thing.

I don’t believe he hurt his stock bc NFL draft is different. Some people forget results don’t really matter. Weren’t 2 QBs taken last year in the 1st or early 2nd didn’t win 10 games?

It's clear that MANY of you didn't watch Penix during the regular season, that game last night wasn't the worst game he's had last season.
Texas had a bad pass defense and a ton of people overreacted to that performance.
It was very clear to anyone who knows ball that Michigan was going to win that game by 10+ before they even kicked off.

His draft stock won't take a hit because he was already regarded as the 4th or 5th best quarterback anyway.
I saw a lot of posts last week about how this poster or that would take him #1 because of his performance vs Texas and saying they didn't understand why he wasn't ranked higher, last night is why.

3rd round. No disrespect, but his health is questionable.

Last night muddied the waters because it looked like he needs his receivers to win for him to be really successful versus him elevating those around him. To me, that’s a second round grade.
