Hoke on contributes rumors that 99% of the time end up being false.

Love Caddy and what he’s meant to Auburn, but let’s be honest. Running back recruiting and development has been pretty mediocre. We could absolutely upgrade. It hurts to say that, and maybe a lot of it has to do with how poor our offensive line has been, but come on. We’ve been pretty stagnant.

we are stacked at RB and it has been the strength of the O........despite a putrid OL.

Not really dominant. Through 6 games Thorne led the team in rushing believe it or not.
50 carries for 225 yards for Thorne for 4.5 ypc/ 2 TDs
57 carries for 218 yards for Hunter for 3.8 ypc/ 3 TDs
32 carries for 155 yards for Ashford for 4.8 ypc/ 5 TDs

we were fourth in the SEC........behind UGA, Tenn., and LSU.
ETA we averaged 189 YPG.

Yes, because both Payton and Robby averaged more than all but one RB in a 6 game stretch. That’s terrible.

Yards per carry is a better measure of a running game.
The service academies lead the nation in rushing each year and not one running back on any of those teams could play in the SEC

WTF are you talking about?
we had 4 RB's average at least 4.5 per carry

Also I’m gonna let Freeze make staff decisions. We have forced hands of players and staff since Dye was around. If we are turning it over to Freeze let him do his thing. He has to live with it.

If the rumors are true, let’s just say I wouldn’t be surprised to see Derrick Nix at Ole Miss finally reunite with Freeze

our RBs seem to underperform

He was talking about my post....look up
RBs rebounded nicely after the 6th game in an easier stretch.

so we are going to cherry pick games?
Anybody with one good eye can see the RB room has been the strength of our O for quite some time. Behind a bad OL the last several years........nothing has changed.

You also have to remember hunter missed a game and started the season a lot slower than anyone expected come off the suspension. Some of that’s on him, he didn’t really get going until about mid season. Getting suspended and starting slow ain’t on caddy. Nobody was down on hunter last year because he hadn't develope under caddy. Everyone was saying he was better than the back playing in the nfl right now and was excited for this year. If they want to make a change to freshen up the room then fine . But he hasn’t been a problem that “needs” fixing

Nope, but a strong running game doesn't have thorne leading 6 games in. 6 is quality enough of a sample size.

Caddy was hired in 2019 but we haven't exactly been RBU since then either. Talent has slacked off too...

I cant care less about his RBs production. It's the recruiting.

He recruited tank, hunter, Cobb, we decided not to take a back this year and we looking to land Henderson who just rushed for 3200+ and 60+tds for next year class. He’s been solid as a recruiter too. I understand the want for 5star backs and have an elite recruiter. My whole point is he isn’t the first problem that needs to be solved. He’s been more than serviceable
