Bama's last "legit" title was 2017

Yeah they won whatever tf you call 2020, in front of 1/4 capacity neutral crowds.
But, 2017 was last title, in a normal year.
Pretty wild when you think about it.
5 titles between 2009-2017; 0 "normal" ones since.

But Saban hasn’t lost a step.

This is my favorite melt from fans of other teams.
"Nuh-uh! That title's not legitimate!"

Kind of just wish they'd stop embarrassing the conference in the playoff. It's getting old

I can’t even remember who they played.

College football only exists when LSU has a winning season- everyone knows that

No one can.
And to be fair, that was a salty Bama team in 2020. But it doesn't matter. All the opt outs; chaos.
The weird forgotten year. Maybe Bama would have won in 2020 no matter what but we'll never know.

Do you typically remember who other teams played in the postseason? I don't.

Yes, I am sure Bama fans would race to defend a 2020 title for LSU, Georgia, Tenn, etc.
I'm so sure you all would be the first to defend it's "legitimacy"...
......

2020 was more legit than 2017 by a mile. They destroyed everyone in 2020

I tend to watch and remember legitimate national title games, yes.

Their 2020 team was disgustingly good

They very well could have steamrolled everyone. Devonta was playing sega ball against everyone.
But that year, rightfully so, is a forgotten asterisk in time.

Forgot they got to bypass the SEC Title game, again, and get in lol.
But they did smoke a really good Clemson team that year, and then came back to beat really good Georgia team. So getting in is total BS as we all know, but they 100% handled business in the CFP, legitimately.

Yeah I don't really see how this can be argued.
No matter how elite teams are, going on the road to face rivals, and/or quality opponents matters. In full capacity 100k+ stadiums.
I have no idea what Bama's original schedule for 2020 was, but they by the nature of Covid didn't have a single tough road game. Nor bowl game. In terms of environment.

Meh.
Go look at those teams, the opt outs, etc.
I mean LSU alone had Chase opt out. Terrace Marshall opt out after a few games.
Those were SEC teams in name only, at least the majority.
Again, that 2020 team was incredible but their schedule they played killed their legacy/legitimacy. Which isn't Bama's fault by any means. It just is what it is.
