Yes, Florida State got embarrassed by Georgia They were overwhelmed before the game started because of opt outs. Many in here are dogging the players for opting out but can you blame them? They did everything they had to do-go undefeated, win their power 5 conference and then see themselves get screwed over in favor of 2 teams that had a loss. No one can be sure that they wo with uld not have been competitive in the final 4 with all their players and their 2nd string QB with almost a month to prepare and run the offense in practice. As an undefeated team they were denied a chance to compete for a NC-even without Travis. We all know King Saban was on the phone lobbying his connections to influence the committee to pick Bama. King Saban gets his way and the team that rightfully earned a spot got screwed. It's safe to say missing Travis would have had some impact bit I'm certain the total team with Rodebush would have been a lot better than what they had on the field yesterday!

What a horrible take. Things don't go your way so you quit?

Yes I can blame them. Disappointments happen in life. A lot of set backs that are far more tragic than missing out on the college football playoffs. It was a shot to the nuts when they got snubbed but man up and go play the game. You're not doing these kids any favors by teaching them to quit. Most of them will not play in the NFL, and even those that do will have to enter the workplace after they leave. You're setting them up for failure with this mindset. Young people are soft these days.

I mean I’m going to watch my team regardless who’s playing if they are in a bowl game. I will however probably not entertain actually attending said bowl game unless it’s local enough or a playoff game next year. Like, sure we were missing a lot of guys, but I knew every one of our players names on the field, and was excited to see them play. I think anyone in a NY6 bowl should probably not try to opt out tho.

And don’t get me started on people excusing “injured” players. If said injured player was healthy enough to play through it if it were a playoff game but not a bowl, they are technically an opt out.

When have we seen a career ending injury in the bowl games? I can’t remember a game other when I was a kid watching Monday Night Football and seeing Joe Thiesman getting destroyed have I seen a true career ending injury. Well Tyrone Prothro but is the only career ending injury I can think of in college but that happened in season. I think this sitting out a bowl game is a straw man argument because true career ending injuries are few and far between. As medicine advance so does this argument because it’s because it’s kinda dumb. It’s a setback yes if you get hurt in a bowl game. If Tua can still get drafted in the top 5 of the draft after his hip then it’s hard to argue sitting out a bowl game to be honest.

It’s bizarre other teams seem to be melting about the playoffs more than Georgia.

They obviously should’ve been in and just lost at the worst time. Weird all the other teams melting
