It's not much further north than Lexington KY or Charlottesville VA
But if not good enough, we are at an impasse. If a program can't grow grass, they have to leave.
Notre Dame Stadium was grass for over 100 years - it may have been Bluegrass or some hybrid, but okay

Or quit bitching about the playing surface and play the fricking games. About half of the NFL plays on turf. Get over it

??? you're an idiot
NFL stadiums up north with natural grass:
Baltimore - Bermuda
Chicago (been grass since the French revolution): Kentucky Bluegrass, same as Notre Dame always was
Cleveland - Kentucky Bluegrass
Denver - Kentucky Bluegrass
Kansas City...Arrowhead... : Bermuda... you dipshit
Wash DC - Bermuda
Pittsburgh - Kentucky Bluegrass
Just because Mizzou is too damn lazy to fix shite, don't come on here throwing whiney arse temper tantrums

Might be mistaken but my understanding. Design is a sunken bowl. Field level is below surrounding roads trapping moisture and the cold. That plus drainage issues made grass very difficult to maintain.

Nope. South side of Mizzou's stadium has plenty of drainage opportunity, and could have been fixed 15 years ago or more.
But they took the lazy way out like Texas stadiums and kept the turf and started spreading concrete all over the south side of the outskirts

Natural grass is okay until it rains like hell for 3 straight days before a cold game in November.

What part of half the nfl teams have turf was wrong moron?

I will defer to chiefs grounds crew. If they say it’s an issue then it’s an issue.

I remember the days when only Auburn, LSU, UK and UGA had grass. I will always respect the hell out of those 4 for not giving in to that plastic shite in the 70's.,, Even if UK played on beige grass the last half of the season

The Carolina Panthers field would've been a complete shite show last Sunday in all that rain. Up until this season, the Panther's field by this time of year was always terrible. Same with the Tennessee Titans.

You can install turf and collect the runoff. Anything infiltrating the turf can be collected by a geo composite and conveyed to a pipe system.
Sinkholes can be remediated by choking them off and backfill with graded filter materials.
Point is there is an engineering solution.
Real turf is great but takes more maintenance and is a no go for heavy usage in November.,
