A&M will only survive because of NIL

With daddy Texas now in the SEC, what reason would any recruit have besides money (or sexual orientation) to join that cult?

This is counterintuitive because they bought that last recruiting class and it worked out horribly for them...

in their heart of hearts they know every word is true. it's the reason they went to the SEC in the first place and why they were so insistent on a "Gentleman's Agreement."

NIL is what is killing A&M

Aggy culture just does not fit in the SEC.
I vote to replace them with FSU.

Miami has the most pathetic fanbase in the game. Cubans and Yankees that can’t be bothered to turn up to the games but miss no opportunity to beat their chests

They actually have a fairly large following in Houston and surrounding areas which is a massive pool of recruits in their state.

Oh great, now a Miami alter.

Disagree.
Between stadium upgrades, salaries, facilities, and NIL, tamu spent 3/4 of a Billion dollars since joining the SEC to build a relevant program.
They haven’t won the west and have regressed as a program since 2012-2013. The highlight of the program was a 9-1 season during the pandemic.
They now have Syracuse’s head coach recruiting players on tamu’s dime. The fan base turned its nose up on an established SEC coach, and is pumping a 9-7 ACC coach as their savior. Players are leaving at a record pace.
Aggies won’t survive. They’re already dead.

You've still got to have a program and culture that attracts and can develop top talent. A&M hasn't had that and we've seen that money can't buy happiness. That could change with Elko. It changed for Texas with Sark. We shall see.

A/M had a 12 year head start on Texas. That window is shut.

We will undoubtedly lose to them next year and probably begin another long losing streak to them. Overall win percentage puts us comfortably in the bottom half of the conference. That is an objective fact. And the whole “military school” argument of the first 70+ years of the program are a poor excuse.
It was during that period we were recognized national champions, and the service academies and Ivy League schools managed to dominate in certain years during those times as well. What’s our excuse?
We have been a poorly run program using the good ol boy philosophy with boosters pulling all the strings. Hope it turns around but it’s reasonable to assume it won’t. I look forward to the next occasional uncharacteristically good season (by our standards) like 2012 and 2020 were. As a fan and alum they’re fun to watch. My expectations are tempered and I have no delusions of grandeur
