That's great kirk. The issue is that the last 9 years who is "better" didn't matter compared to who deserved it most based on resume. Now in the last year of this format, "better" does matter and resume doesn't.
That's why people are annoyed.

FSU earned the right to be in the CFP. They beat everyone on their schedule, including the Heisman winner. Alabama did not. Texas did not. There is no logical reason for an undefeated team to be left out, except that is what the media wanted.
Might I remind you why ND was chosen over A&M years ago? "Well, we've already seen A&M play Alabama, and ND had the better overall year" ... I seem to remember Texas and Alabama playing earlier this year

When you claim resume didn't matter this year, it sounds like a 9-3 team made the Playoffs. Resume mattered. FSU was undefeated. Bama had 1 loss. Bama had a better SOS, and hadn't lost the heart and soul of their team to injury. Record matters to an extent... otherwise why does Texas not get any shade? Why is Liberty not in?

their resume is literally as good as you could ask for. Going into August what would a bama fan claim as their perfect resume? Undefeated 13-0 conference champs, right? There is *literally* not a better on paper resume than that.
I wish they'd jsut call a spade a spade and stop with all the tiptoeing around bullshite. Just say "look, last year TCU deserved to be in the playoffs but they got embarrassed to a degree never before seen in a bowl game and our TV overlords dont' want a repeat. Since FSU is without jordna travis we're just going with bama instead".

Bama all but lost to a terrible Auburn team at the end of the season. FSU could take down Bama with its backup. It’s not that far fetched.

So had Bama not played Texas but played North Texas, would you say the same of undefeated Bama? You're gonna say FSU played LSU but so did Bama. So as long as you are undefeated, schedule strength should not be looked at? this is what you are saying?
If you aren't saying that check out the schedule strength. You can't have it both ways.

he still doesn't explain why UGA was left out then. Nobody in their right minds thinks Wash is better than UGA, but Wash got in based on "deserve" but FSU didn't. The problem is there was no consistency in the decisions. And then FSU is #5 over UGA too, lol.
