Do people not understand that the committee uses a combination of best and deserved to pick the “best” 4 teams. It’s not best vs deserved, it’s a combination of both. You had 5 conference champions this year all with 1 loss or undefeated. 5 teams that earned it on the field so the committee picked what they felt were the best 4 out of those 5 deserving teams. Sure Georgia is probably one of the best 4 teams, but they didn’t meet the threshold of deserving this year without having that conference championship like the other 5 teams. The only question was FSU vs Alabama and they felt Alabama was better. And the injury to Jordan Travis gave them an easy out to put in Alabama.

What about FSU vs Texas, another one loss conference champion?

I've heard people say that the committee couldn't put Bama in over Texas, but after this year, I think the committee can do whatever it wants.

By this logic, #4 most deserving was Liberty.

It’s getting old.

And the injury to Jordan Travis

I remember a starting qb about five years ago who led his team to a 13-0 deficit after the first half, who was then replaced by the second string qb for the second half and this second-stringer eventually won the national championship.

Second string qbs can win ball games you know.

Yeah see with Texas and Bama…Bama’s loss was better than Texas’s loss and their top win is arguably equal or better, so there’s an argument which could be made between both Texas and Bama as well if someone was discerning beyond “head to head”.

Of course backup QBs can when big games. Sometimes the backup even turns out to be better than the starter like Tom Brady. But we remember those moments because they are not the norm. I think things would have turned out differently if FSUs backups went out there and lit it up but they didn’t.

Sorry, but 24 hour melt isn't near long enough for some LSU fans! This melt will be going on for closer to 24 years than 24 hours.

Instead of trying to come up with different adjectives and perspectives on the CFP committee, I don't understand why people on here just look at trends instead. The CFP Committe has been around for 10 frigging years now. After a while trends emerge. That's why I knew Georgia had no shot after the SECCG.

Their SOS says otherwise. Their top win says otherwise.

I can keep going if you'd like.

This bama team lost by double digits to Texas at home. Barely beat an OOC team with a horrible record. Should have lost to a very bad auburn team. And beat Georgia barely by 3 pts. The game was aweful on both sides. Florida state hasn’t lost a game and won their last 2 important games, one with their backup and one with the freshman 3rd string. Go frick you’re if you say they don’t deserve to be in it over a very underrated bama team that has no business stiffing the playoffs. So go frick yourself or your cousin. It doesn’t matter to me.

Texas wasn't ranked 4th. That was Alabama. Thus Alabama was the reason FSU got left out.
