Snubbing an undefeated P5 conference champion for two one loss teams is indefensible

Love how y’all draw the P5 line due to teams like Liberty playing weaker competition. The committee followed their protocol. Head to head, SOS, common opponents and injuries that effected performance in beginning of season and results and injuries that figure into post season play This isn’t that complicated to figure out.

FSU beat 2 SEC teams.

FSU played one SEC bowl team. Bama played and beat 7 of them, including the same one FSU "manned up" and scheduled. Bama plays them every year. Sometimes LSU is really good and we get a lot of credit for beating them, sometimes they suck and we don't. Them's the breaks. Florida sucked this year, but for whatever reason, you think beating them this year is a major achievement because Florida was great 14/15 years ago. LSU, Auburn, Georgia, and Tennessee have all won championships in my ifetime, so that means in 2023, Bama gets credit, too, right? We beat the Vols and deserve massive credit because they were 1998 National Champs.

According to you, FSU didn't do enough.

Right

So obviously, your take is that FSU should schedule 3 SEC teams

That's not my take. Besides, there's 2 problems with your make believe assertion. First, why SEC teams? FSU could schedule a PAC or Big 12 or Big 10 or Notre Dame or whatever. Second, the team they're playing has to actually be good. Scheduling Vanderbilt isn't "beating an SEC team". It's pitiful. And if that team turns out to be hot arse, well, them's the breaks.

Again, your argument here is if Bama fragged Wake Forest in lieu of MTSU, Bama's "manning up" and playing an "OOC P5". It's a moronic position to take.

quote:

Beating 2 SEC opponents wasn't enough.

Bama beat 9 and it's not enough for you.

No one crowns you champ because you beat a 5-7 team with a limp dick QB. Except you, I guess.

FSU sucks...Boston College knows it...Florida knows it...Clemson knows it...Miami knows it...good thing they didn't play an elite team this year or they'd have been blown out bigly. #55 SOS out of 69 P5 teams...How embarrassing

Do you honestly think FSU is better than Bama? Or are you just mad that Bama might win another NC?

Like another poster said on another thread, they dropped a team because they felt like they would be less competitive than another team. Almost as if they put the better team in like it was designed

People are continually arguing like it's the best teams. It is not. It's the most deserving teams who are still showing themselves to be deserving.

Stop saying it's the best. If it were the best, we'd be in there. I don't have a problem with us not being there. I don't have a problem with FSU not being there.

But what they did can't be justified with a simple argument of "it's this" or "it's that".

Is this a serious question? You best Arkansas by 3 & it took a miracle to beat a god awful auburn team.

Of course they. Everyone down voting you are a bunch of frickin hypocrites because if it was LSU that got in, then they would be praising the committee and they know it. Bama and FSU are both better than FSU right now. It's blatantly obvious if you watched any FSU games.

That's not my take.

It has to be your take.
FSU can only beat the teams on their schedule. (And they did).
If their schedule isn't good enough, then they need 3 P5 OOC opponents over the 2 SEC teams that they opted in for. LSU and Florida weren't good enough.

quote:

Besides, there's 2 problems with your make believe assertion. First, why SEC teams? FSU could schedule a PAC or Big 12 or Big 10 or Notre Dame or whatever.

I don't think you understand the definition of "problem". How is that a problem with my assertion? It is irony.
Bama fans say that FSU didn't do enough. But FSU chose to play 2 of the best historical SEC programs. Sure. It could be the BIGX or BIGXII. But the SEC assertion is that the SEC is the best conference.
You don't see the irony which dictates that FSU must beat a third SEC team in order to have their undefeated season validated?
While chickenshit Bama schedules one BIGXII school who hadn't won a division in 15 years and they lost the game at home by 10?
quote:

Second, the team they're playing has to actually be good. Scheduling Vanderbilt isn't "beating an SEC team". It's pitiful. And if that team turns out to be hot arse, well, them's the breaks.

FSU didn't schedule Vandy. That's also ironic. They scheduled 2 Big 6 schools from the SEC. 2 schools among the most division titles and conference titles and national championships. It's not like FSU could schedule Bama. They chickenshit after 1 OOC opponent.

Your failure to see the irony is telling.
There are only 6 SEC schools out of 14 with winning conference records. LSU was one of those 6.

Sounds like a plan.

But FSU chose to play 2 of the best historical SEC programs

Nebraska is one of the best historical programs of all time. Nobody has thumped their chest about beating them in 20 years. So fricking stop it. If beating 5-7 Florida matters that much to you, then make a banner and mail it to FSU athletic department. This is the dumbest take in history.

quote:

While chicken shite Bama schedules one BIGXII school who hadn't won a division in 15 years

But they won it, their conference and a playoff berth THIS year. Lucky for Alabama. Alabama also scheduled and played #3 Florida State a few years back and FSU turned out to be terrible. Them's the breaks.

I'm done with you, man. Seethe and cope and write your Senator.

I don't have to cope with anything.
We lost and we don't move on.

That's typically what happens. Kind of like Bamas only out of conference game against Texas.
It makes way for teams who didn't lose.

Bama fans were absolutely crying "why did we schedule texas!". "We shouldn't even do it if it would only punish us".
The irony was that FSU scheduled LSU and Florida. And never bitched about it once.

Bama is full of Fairweather bitches without an ounce of logic. Every team has them, I guess.

In fairness that was a Mizzou fan, not a Georgia fan. It may have happened, but I haven't see any Georgia fans using it as an excuse.

Alabama fans, on the other hand used injuries as an excuse for months after the game was over. Many months after the game was over.

Did FSU have a 99.9 % chance of losing any games since their qb went down? You know, since ther wins didn’t pass the eyeball test.
