Do you honestly think FSU is better than Bama?
We will never know, but considering BAMA barely beat a terrible Auburn team a week earlier does not warrant them receiving the overwhelming world-beater status they have been given by many voters. Too many just cannot be objective and look at the immediate response of items and have the attention span and logical reasoning of a fruit fly.

Only 4 teams can get in. Someone was going to be outraged.

It's almost like people think these games are decided on a computer with absolutely zero variable inputs.
Sometimes teams play up and down from one week to the next.

I’m aware. That’s what I’m saying. In the case where being subjective doesn’t work, the only objective aspect to base a decision on is 13-0 vs. 12-1. If Florida State wins objective and the subjective is unknown, how does that trump the other? Alabama has shown signs this year of struggling to score. Against Fla. State, how many point do they score?

I don’t see how people don’t get that having struggle wins but going undefeated is so completely different from having struggle wins with a loss, but whatever
I don't see how people don't get that quality of opponents matter.
Bobby Bowden was right. The ACC is a weaker conference top to bottom than the SEC. He admitted that it was why they were able to win two national championships in the nineties and play for others. It served them well in the nineties. This year it came back to haunt them. So be it.

Enough. How many would FSU score against Bama? Probably zero.

If Auburn was in the ACC this year, they likely would have played in the ACC title game. If they played anything like they did agains GA and Bama, they could have won it.
And if they played like they did vs New Mexico State, Auburn would be winless in the ACC.

FSU should get credit because LSU was elite 4 years ago and Florida was elite 15 years ago?
What else are they supposed to do when it comes to OOC scheduling?
Teams in weaker conferences are told to schedule multiple more difficult OOC opponents to mitigate the weaker conference schedule. FSU scheduled not one, but two.
With OOC games scheduled years in advance, do you just have to rely on luck and chance?

Wut. The SEC #7/8 beat the ACC #2. ACC doesn't remotely have a win that good.
But I've learned in last 2 weeks from the Iron Bowl that you throw rankings out the window in rivalry games. Is that not true?
FWIW, I do think Bama is better than FSU and that the playoff should be conference champs only and not subjective best 4 teams, so Bama and FSU would both be in my version of a playoff.

quote:You folks need to make up your mind. You bitched and moaned for years about having a playoff to decide it on the field and now you don't even want the games to be played. You've already made up in your mind who wins.
If you honestly think FSU would beat Bama 2 out of 10 times, I’m not sure what to tell you.
Either you want a playoff to decide it on the field, or you don't.

And if FSU had played like they did against BC in more games, we wouldn't be talking about them at all.
We can do this all day.

Bama stole their rightful playoff slot. FACT
I've always felt the champion of the strongest conference in the nation deserves a spot in the CFP.

What's so impressive with Florida State here?
FSU scheduled 2 P5 OOC opponents.
Alabama turtled as usual and only scheduled 1.
Are you telling me that FSU should have scheduled half of the big 6 from the SEC with Bama only playing 1 BigXii team?
Would that have been the solution for FSU on the strength of schedule?
That sounds like a fair argument from the chicken little roll tides.

What the frick does FSU have to play for?
They worked their asses off all year and won, with losing two QB’s, and being fricked over in a historical manner.
FSU and their ACC alliance voted AGAINST the expanded playoff this year. They had their chance, but declined to cooperate. Now cry me some more crocodile tears.

All games matter, and most teams change throughout the season.
Thankfully, this isn't the only time two team may go head-to-head. Big12, Pac12 conferences do it all the time.
Even LSU was happy to face-off again against Bama a decade ago..
We all remember the outcome of that game - 21 - 0, Bama.
Coincidence, I'm sure.

The Georgia that was a failed onside kick away from overtime against a six loss acc team? That Georgia?

MLB should have given the Mets the Phillies’ playoff spot because some douchabags in Texas think the Mets were better.
There is no other sport in the country in which a team can win every game and not be allowed to play for the championship. Not one.

sMU really got screwed as well.
We don't like the BCS. We don't like the Committee.
Just reduce to 64 teams. Play 10 x Conference games. Play a 64 team seeded playoff and be done with all of the bitching.
2008 Pats we're 11-5 and missed the playoffs. 8-8 Chargers made it though. And, that is a league with a lot more parity. Things happen in playoff formats.
Next year, it won't get better. Likely only worse as there is much less separating #10-20.
