The article didn't mention he had the 109th ranked rushing offense in the nation this year.

When he took the Baylor job, I tweeted that he was just taking that job until the Arkansas job opened up and he actually liked my tweet. Turns out that was accurate.

Yes let’s ignore his body of work and focus on one negative year. He obviously forgot how to coach offensive line between last year and this year.

You’re right, I’m wrong

you don't have to be a buffoon or arrogant to agree with this...
I mean, has he not done well the majority of the time as a Oline coach? DId he recruit well? IDK... I mean, why are some of these folks so damn negative all of the time. I am middle ground mostly. I remember a time when we wanted Him to stick around as a fanbase... I mean, right?

The article displayed his body of work but ignored the stats for 2023.
One good positive is that Baylor was 107th in the nation with sacks allowed. Better than Arkansas which landed them at 126th in the nation.

Any coach with any connection to Pittman is a cold beer drinking buddy.

At the end of the day, if he doesn't perform then he is a one year rental. So I'm cool with the hire.

If he doesn't improve the OL significantly, we'll probably have a new coaching staff the following year.

Pittman wasn't going to get any OL coach from any program with a good level of success to come here.
It doesn't matter to me as history has shown that the OL is the hardest positions of development. The odds are against Pittman in finding and developing an OL within a year that is decent enough to give Arkansas a chance to win more games next year.

Honestly, thats the way I see it. Just another lazy hire.

Mateos continued to lead one of the nation’s top offensive line units in 2022, forming an elite group out of veterans that included Connor Galvin, Jacob Gall, Grant Miller, Khalil Keith, Gavin Byers and Mose Jeffrey. The offensive line group paved the way for a rushing attack that rolled to 182.4 yards per game and 2,371 total rushing yards, including 34 rushing TDs, which ranked seventh-most in program history.
Here’s the 2023 Baylor offensive line depth chart

No matter how you look at it, swapping Kennedy for Mateos is not an updrade.
This feels like just another lazy Sam special hire.
