Here’s my thing, people have said FSU doesn’t pass the eye test without Jordan Travis
Which I’m fine with and agree with wholeheartedly
But, Alabama didn’t pass the eye test against Auburn either. It’s like collectively everyone in the country just forgot Alabama needed a miracle to beat a BAD Auburn team

You’re missing a pretty critical piece of the puzzle here, and it relates to the committee’s stated criteria in making selections.
Well if Milroe gets hurt between now and game day, I am confident Alabama will recuse themselves from the playoffs and let Georgia take their place.

Bama would be screaming bloody murder if they were undefeated and got left out.
Yeah because an undefeated SEC conference champion would routinely be the champion of one of top conferences in that season.

Tbh, I did not think we were getting in. Was already resigned to it. I’m shocked.
Me too. Didn’t expect committee to do the right thing.
Apparent part of it was to ask who the members wouldn’t want to play. Apparently the answer reflected in the decision

Silly hypothetical because that will never happen

If you make it through the SEC undefeated, being left out isn't even a discussion.

Of course we would, but that doesn't mean the right choice wasn't made.
Florida State without Travis is an 8-4 or worse team in the ACC. They likely don't get bowl eligible in the SEC West.
They've always said their goal is to get the best 4 teams in and by that metric there's just no way you could consider FSU.
Honestly, putting them at #5 was just for show. Realistically, with the limits of their offense now they'd have little chance at beating anyone in the top 10 until they got to Penn State at #10 and that would look a lot like the Louisville game where a mistake or two decided the winner.

Undefeated SEC team left out would never happen

I think Ty Simpson can put up more than 16 points against Louisville, a team that Kentucky hung 38 on.
FSU needed to do more against a shitty Louisville team last night.
They passed for 55 yards.
That is the difference.

There would be murders.

You're wrong, they wouldn't be screaming bloody murder...
...they would be committing it.

I can’t wait for a true playoff. frick teams like Bama, Notre Dame, USC and alike that get all these breaks currently. 2004 was all I needed.

That would never happen. Dream on

Yet they owned the sec. But we will ignore that too.
No, you will ignore who their wins were against: Vandy, SCAR, UF, LSU, & A&M. Only one of those teams, LSU, has a winning record in the SEC. So, those SEC teams the ACC beat doesn’t do well in the SEC either.

Correct because we would have a top 5 strength of schedule coming off a championship win against a dominant team stacked with NFL talent. As opposed to a 55th ranked schedule beating a team like Louisville.

Here's the difference. Alabama needed a miracle plus 4 OTs to beat a bad Auburn team in 2021 as well and led the title game with 8:05 left in the 4th. Nobody should be shocked that an Iron Bowl in JHS was tight. They're all that way.
If it had been the last game of the season, the performance would have been more problematic but it wasn't. They came back by beating #1, who was riding a 2 year winning streak, on a less-than-neutral field. That further suggests the AU game was an outlier.
Everyone knows bad games happen and a single bad game can be overcome as demonstrated by Alabama yesterday. Travis isn't coming back, FSU isn't the same without him, and there's simply no way to scheme around his loss.

You're going to very strongly dislike the results.
Those handful of teams that have dominated during the BCS and 4 team playoffs are going to be even more dominant when they'll have a couple of mulligans to play with in the regular season.
