Congrats Jayden - well deserved and hopefully one of many awards given to you, the best qb in America and the best player in the country.

It'd be some bs if he swept all the major QB awards except the Heisman.
Didn't that happen recently at least with the DOB and Heisman?

Which would be crazy considering he has over 1000 rushing yards and 10 TDs. If he wins all the major QB awards and doesn't win the Heisman for "best player" with all those rushing yards, its clear that the Heisman isn't actually for the best player in college football, but its for the perceived best player on a team contending for a playoff berth, which is really more about the team than the player when it comes to college football overall.

We've known this all along... the Heisman isn't truly the best player in CFB

It really should be, though. That’s what it’s supposed to be. And, I’m fine with it going to a player on a 6-6 team. What if there is some OLB who is just amazing and dominating on a team that isn’t that good? Like, a Derrick Thomas with 27 sacks on a bad team? Alabama went 9-3 that year and weren’t at all bad, and Barry Sanders won the Heisman, but Derrick Thomas finished 10th??? He was dominant. Not saying he should have beaten out Barry Sanders, who was incredible, but many Thomas was even better?
It really should go to the best player overall. It seems like it used to more in the past. People talk about LSU’s record this year, but 9-3 with losses to teams who are a combined 33-3 and they have like the 105th defense is plenty enough of a resume for the Heisman if we were looking at who the best player is. If it’s for the best player on the best overall team, then redefine the award officially and make it more of an MVP award for the playoffs or something.

Or they’re voted on by very different groups of voters.
Like if a vote for best BBQ was held and a group of 100 from North Carolina vote Carolina BBQ and then 100 from Texas vote for Texas BBQ. You can definitely expect bias and different perspectives to play a part.

He was our best running back too. That has Heisman written all over it.

Congrats. I think that if any team listed the player who they most feared to face, Daniels would be at the top of that list. He is a unique talent, in a very talented league.
