One thing that is for sure. Nobody whose opinion matters GAF about what the other fan bases say or think about this hire.
Elko did an outstanding job in his previous work as DC for the Aggies, so now he gets to run the whole operation.
All you people that don't like it, eat shite.

I’m thinking about starting a Mike Elko thread bc everyone is doing it too. I feel left out. I did start a Lebby thread tho. That’s my limit.

Fire Jimbo for offensive woes and hire a defensive coach.
Neat.

I’m aware that this board is usually reserved for nothing but trolling other teams, but I think this is a home run hire. He’s a great defensive mind with a ton of talent now. A&M is gonna be a tough out next year.
Duke wasn’t flashy this year, some might say kinda boring. But they were physical. They hit hard. I like that kind of football.

Firing Jimbo fixed the offense. Nobody could be worse.

You hired Jimbo for offense.
You had offensive problems.
You fired Jimbo for offense.
You hired Defense.
This circular logic is starting to make sense. I see it now. My bad, man.

Maybe hire the defensive coach who will just hand the keys over to an OC is what A&M was thinking?

Elko has given up over 30 points only 9 times when he was our DC for 4 years. 4 of those were to Bama. But we didn’t have the horses we have now then.

So, the exact same thing you had this past year?
Like I said. It makes sense now. No. Really. It does.

Don't like it? I think every other fan base loves this hire

Daniels put up 4 TD’s (would have been 5 but he knelt at the end) on the best defense you’ve had in decades. This Duke coach (ha) ain’t going to help. Sucks yall had to pay $77 million to get him.

In the three games Elko was DC against LSU in seasons recognized by the NCAA, the Aggies gave up 149 points (average of almost 50).
