The discussion was if Stoops is more qualified than Elko. The answer to that question is yes. He has established a success at Kentucky at a consistent level after taking the program over when it was in awful shape.
Elko may have done the same thing at Duke, but we will never know now.
Somehow the conversation has been shifted to who is the better husband between the two, and some other nonsense about UK fans hating Stoops.
Let me sum it up here in a very easy to understand breakdown. Stoops is highly respected by the UK fanbase, but there still are things that frustrate us, as there is in every fanbase. I think most of us feel that this should have been a 10 win team (however in retrospect the Missouri loss isn't too bad).
With that being said did we want him to leave? No. Did we understand if he was going to leave a basketball first university to go to a football first university? Yes. Are we glad he is still our coach? Absolutely.
I hope Elko does a fine job over at A&M, and he may just do that, but don't act like at this moment he is better than Stoops.

Stoops can’t recruit Texas like Elko will, especially on defense. He’s known and liked by the Texas coaches, where we get most of our talent. Elko was the better call.

Anyone who thinks JayAg and me are making shite up, go to the Wildcat Lair football board. They are shitting on Stoops for the program sliding backward and him leaving them for A&M only to get the rugged pulled from under him. It is all there if anyone wants to read it.
