Because of timing of Leach’s death, they should have put the Interim tag on Arnett.

2 games left. Both home games vs in-state rivals. Gotta do something to hopefully fire up the current players enough to put forth more effort and play with passion. This teams has looked checked out the past couple of weeks.

Y'all couldn't let him finish out the season though? Everyone knew he probably wasn't ready to take of an SEC program, but he stepped into a horrible situation. I figured he'd get to finish out the season at least.

Not that there's a good time for a coach to pass away, but happened at a really bad time. It was late in a heavy coaching change cycle and in the heart of recruiting season. I think MSU was just trying to hold the class together.
And just because someone is an offensive mind, it doesn't mean that they would do well with Leach's team. He builds his team to fit his offense. You see now that Will Rogers was nothing without Leach(QBs have ALWAYS overperformed in his offense).
I don't blame them with giving him a chance given the circumstance.

You can't recruit with an "interim" tag.

Waiting only puts you a month behind in hiring the replacement.
State and Arnett got dealt a bad hand, no doubt, but we can’t let coach leach’s death put us behind the eight ball a second time.
