This was presented at halftime at the Miss St game. Flexing that they got the funds before firing Jimbo the next day.

Nobody deserves the misery they make for themselves more than Aggie.

They aren't laughing. Trust me. They were wondering what the hell we were thinking. But they aren't laughing. The buyout shows our power. Recruits will see it too. Natty 2026, calling it now.

The laughter was over the contract numbers that supposedly had us "stuck" with Jimbo forever. Now (if you hear laughter) it's a nervous laugh because nobody has ever pulled this type of move before - at any level of sports. It's also a nervous laugh from those that are thinking that if our donors have this type of money - then what will happen (with our football/NIL program) when we make a coaching move that IS successful.

It was even in the same thread.

Will be interesting to see what coach they get knowing the boosters there expect the coach to eat out of their hands

Are you familiar with the inner workings of the Texas A&M booster structure, or is this what you’ve just read here?

Everybody said, the buyout was too large to fire Jimbo’s. We proved them wrong!

The ego of Texas oil money cannot be satisfied. It is exactly what is wrong with both of the flagship programs in the state...they can not control their donors. Auburn has the same issues and apparently Miami does also...

It is one thing to convince a well-heeled jock sniffer to donate to the program. It is another thing to accomplish that and when that jock sniffer tries to make gameday decisions etc tell them that is not what they paid for. Good coaches accomplish this to some degree. No one will be able to accomplish it at a Texas university to any sort of extent because Texans ain't having it...the donors that make a difference at both ATM and UT are the truck nut class of wealthy power brokers...tacky as hell and ain't nobody gonna tell them what they can and can't do...

No one ever considers the poor staffer that has to lug those big checks around and deposit them. Bunch of jerks up in the head shed with no concern for the little guy.

Does one need to be? Your boosters just committed $77M to get their way, so they obviously have some say in the matter and will likely expect more of that moving forward.

The Longhorns don’t have the issues they do for lack of money; they have the issues they do because of arrogant boosters.

Not saying that’s what is happening at A&M, but it isn’t a leap to suggest people putting up this sum of money are going to want a say.
