Liucci just shot down both Fisch and Traylor. Must be Elko, which would be the most A&M thing to do ever. I know people hold out hope for DeBoer but I just cannot see it.

I would love Smith as well. I want to stay away from the "safe" Elko hire. But at least Traylor was shot down as well ... explains why he was being so nasty earlier this week.

I would be ok with Elko. Not my first choice but don't think it'd be a disaster. My top three are DeBoer, Fisch, and Smith. But I think the familiarity with Elko will probably win out

There hasn’t been much buzz around him but I think he’s getting at least serious consideration if you read into what folks have said about the opening, both Bjork and the people who cover us. I would be pumped for Smith and think he has real upside

Looch's statement that he keeps his eyes out west fits that theory. Would be pretty jazzed about Smith as well.

I think it is getting down to nut cutting time and he doesn't want to have any wrenches thrown into the works from his side. Just my wild guess.

I really think we are going to see if DeBoer is serious after this weekend. I guess I'm a Michigan fan this weekend as well so we can put the Day rumors to rest. And Oregon will smash Smith's team.

The timing with DeBoer is rough. Bjork has said we will have "clarity" by the 3rd or 4th. Does that mean an announcement or just that we just know who is really a candidate?
