I just don't see how the timing works for DeBoer. If he wins out it pretty much guarantees he is not available. Don't see him leaving his team in the lurch like that.

I'm almost done with Billy's segment and hoping he says something else. I guess we will have to wait until he release his article this afternoon.

Know the goal is to narrow down and have their 2-3 names. Coaches have been vetted. We're going after these couple of guys.

From talking to sources around the country the expectation is it's 3 finalists now.

-Kalen DeBoer he thinks is still a candidate. He's not leaving a job unfinished and will not allow himself to be distracted while at Washington.

-Dan Lanning and Dan Campbell were neither never in the running like Billy said in the beginning.

-Doesn't believe DeBoer will engage himself but through agents.

-Don't take Ryan Day off the list but very skeptical of that. Likes Elko. Things Day is his agent trying to work things up.

-See what happens if Day loses to Michigan and how the heat turns up.

-Billy mentions a name but won't say who. Then comes back to Luke Fickell. Would've called to kick the tires on him.

-Matt Rhule and Fickell could've been names even though they've only been at their schools for one year.

Lane would absolutely crush it at A&M. It saddens me that a large segment of our fans and boosters won’t put their butthurt aside because he’s as close to a slam dunk as it gets

Jimbo was the surest of sure, slam dunk, grand slam hire. This shite is a fricking crapshoot.

No doubt, but as far as resume and what we are looking for, he checks every box. Some petty beef with a coach we just fired shouldn’t be a factor at all. I want to win

100% agree. That should mean almost nothing.

I don't think he's got it in him to win big. I think he'd come here. We'd score some points. Win a few big games. Lose a few games we shouldn't and end up 9-3 most years with an occasional 10+ win season and occasional 7 win season. That is an improvement over Jimbo for sure.

That would be awesome coming out of left field if he was the hire. Could get that timeline going quickly right after the Egg Bowl as well.
