That's why i put more emphasis on what happened then. CFB peaked in the late 90s to early 2000s.

We are on a steep trajectory down nowadays.

And i sincerely believe those best mid to late 90s teams would stomp a mudhole into today's teams because today 's players are soft asf in comparison and they just all view it as a money grab nothing else now.

The slight size and strength advantage isn't nearly enough to make up for the lack of heart and will to win. Everyone playing today grew up with a smart phone in their hands.

Back then you had seniors like Peyton freakin Manning turning down millions of dollars to stay in college for one more year and try to get that elusive championship.

Yes for those who don't remember, Manning turned down being a top 5 pick to return for one more year in college before he went on to have one of the most legendary QB careers ever in the NFL.

Guys like that are freakin legends and real champions. Their desire to win and love of competing superceeds everything else. Now you got half the team sitting out on bowl games and such or anyone with any remote NFL potential playing not to get injured. It's just not the same.

Most of these newer generations just don't have much dawg in them compared to older guys.

I have to agree with you on all accounts but 1....

We're not on a steep trajectory down hill nowadays. We have jumped off a cliff and the bottom is going to be rock hard!

Remember this though, it's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop at the end.

Go Vols!

Now I wonder why you might think that?

It started to decline but the last couple of years it had really picked up more steam.

The shitty economy in 2008-2012 and again now put the strain on a lot of budgets but there's no doubt that TV ratings, revenue, and fan interest keep climbing.

The only team with comparable toughness as those teams is Kirby Smart's Georgia Bulldogs. That's why they are on top right now.
