St Mary’s will seems broken. We better bring a repeat of todays performance to win. GC playing downhill now.

GCU lost to south carolina by 7 but that was early in the season...the other losses came against teams I've basically never heard of.

Grand canyon is going to be a power house in a few years.

GCU uses a seven-man rotation. (Freshman are not playing.)
Senior - 4
Junior - 2
Sophomore - 1

do not be surprised. Several of these players are over 24 y/o.

Tyon Grant-Foster : Mar 5, 2000

Jovan Blacksher, Jr. : Sep 12, 1999

GCU is making a lot of "bad shots" in the eyes of Nate Oats. Lots of long twos.

But they are doing a good job of getting to the line.

Glad we aren’t getting the last game of the night like SDSU/Yale

Good. Less time for GCU to rest.

They dont have a lot of size. Their biggest guy is a 6'10 soph. We need to play hard and attack the paint.

We have too many weapons for them to keep up. Play smart and we'll beat their arse.

Grant Nelson should be a problem for them.

I hate the idea of playing Grand Canyon. Absolutely hate it. It's an online for-profit "college" and losing to that in the second round would be peak Alabama basketball.

They has a very nice campus here in central Phoenix with over 21,000 on campus students. The for profit "college" thing is very misleading. They were started by former Suns owner Jerry Colangelo and became for profit only so they could sell stock to raise money to grow the school. They pay no dividends and stockholders knew when they bought stock they would never get a return on "investment".

Grand Canyon has spent years trying to convert from a for-profit to a nonprofit institution. The university became a for-profit in 2004 in response to financial difficulties and saw its enrollment skyrocket thanks largely to its online programs.

quote:

Grand Canyon is now recognized as a nonprofit by the Internal Revenue Service, but it can’t market itself that way until the Education Department approves the conversion. Other regulators, including the university’s accreditor, have approved the switch

It is a Christian university.

Nice little arena. I know the womens basketball coach fwiw.

GCU’s 7,000-seat Arena opened on Sept. 1, 2011, just 15 months after university officials broke ground on the project. The nearly 135,000-square-foot sports and entertainment venue hosts GCU athletic, university and community events and national concert tours.

Moreover, it serves as the focal point of GCU’s $1.2 billion campus expansion.1 Notable and exciting features include large windows providing natural light, ceiling beams signed by GCU employees and students, a vault of Bibles buried at center court and an outdoor balcony with picturesque views of the campus. As guests can see by viewing the Global Credit Union Arena map, every seat in the house is a good one, with only 42 steps from the event level to the concourse level.

No excuse to lose to Grand Canyon. And we won’t. We’ve beat teams we are supposed to beat all year. We got a favorable draw. First real test will come in the Sweet 16.

The panel handling the game on HBO seemed to think that GC will beat us.
They were highly complementary of their toughness, defense and scoring ability. While Also pointing out our defensive liabilities.

We can’t give up 18 more shots than we take and win Sunday. Got to stop the offensive rebounds.

I guess Griffen/Dioubate is going to guard Grant-Foster?

They have pretty good size/athleticism on the perimeter

The players defending Grant-Foster are Wrightsell and Griffen.
Dioubate defends PF.
