Could we be 5-2 or 6-1 with an average QB?

The defense plays lights out every game, creates turn overs and puts the offense in great spots.

If we had a average qb, I think we'd have beaten atleast ole miss and uga, and probably A&M too.

It’s much more than QB. The offense is just bad all around

Its QB and WR. Which luckily Hugh is really good at getting. As long as the offensive line stays like it is, y’all are going to see a dramatic improvement in offense next year

Someone from the portal I’m sure. What do y’all’s QB recruits look like at the moment? He landed the number 1 QB in the country in 2015 with us so it’s not out of reach for him

Or maybe I’m talking out of my arse and I don’t know as much about y’all’s roster as I think I do

We are going to have to hit the portal hard again on OL. We lose most of them.

Y’all have the war chest and the staff to get it done. I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

The thing that sucks about the portal though is you never know until the season starts how everyone will gel and perform. You are seeing that with Ole Miss and LSU this year. We both hit the portal hard and last year, LSU won the west because of it and we fell flat on our face. This year, LSU has improved on offense but their defense is historically awful and our team is WAY better than last year.

It’s a fickle bitch

Yep. It will be like this the next two years at least. Our entire 2020 or 2021 class, can’t remember, is gone except for 2 players.

Only thing I'm worried about with Freeze is pawning play calling off on Montgomery in the first place.

He has done well all the way to the top and suddenly going to abandon what worked to get him there?

Lane does this with Charlie Weis Jr and it drives me and other Ole Miss fans up the fricking wall.

Y’all could see some of it tonight. The drives we stretched the field, took shots and ran some tempo, that’s all Kiffin. He loves rubbing the offense vertically. Weis Jr LOVES the toss run plays and running the offense horizontally. And it stalls drives all the fricking time.

Yes. A decent passing game can open up the running game. We need next year's QB go through spring ball. A go to receiver could have helped.

It is going to be like this until we can bring in some young talent and develop it. If we continue to count on the portal, we are just building a one year team. The Oline that we brought in will mostly be gone next year. So, the one offensive lineman that we have on our recruiting class wont be enough. We will have to buy more portal hopes. And so on.

The portal is not the answer. It is a bandaid. At some point, we are going to need to bring up a Oline and a quarterback. Someone who can stay and play for more than 1 year.

To be honest, we will basically be in the exact same spot next year as we are right now. Trying to bring in temporary players to fill holes. Holes that we didnt fill the last couple of years. Its a never ending cycle until a sacrifice is made

That’s why I have been preaching it’s a 3 year rebuild.

Guess what .....when you can't make it on 4th and 1 and it's consistent? It ain't QB's and receivers.
