Dude has simultaneously over and under preformed at South Carolina, finding ways win games he has no business winning and losing games he has no business losing.

Is it that he needs time to develop as a coach? He he a bad fit for South Carolina? Does he need a change of scenery in the ACC?

If you are the South Carolina AD are you extending the contract with a normal raise?

If he could recruit, you’d give him more time.

I mean what should realistic expectations be for directional carolina? They have good support and are in a decent location for talent. If every coaching job in the sec were vacant and starting with equal rosters I'd say they're only behind the big 6 and aTm. Possibly ahead of the barn bc you aren't sharing a state with bama and are very close to north carolina(talent rich state with no real football power). How far short of that is beamer currently?

Not missing a bowl game with a 1st round QB/WR I’d imagine

He will absolutely get another contract extension. He's recruiting, he'll get it done.

muschamp left him in bad shape. It's going-to take a few more years. Things are different with this NIL and transfer portal stuff so, who knows, he may score big transfers this off season and turn it around in a hurry. We'd be in a real mess right now had he not brought Rattler with him from Oklahoma.

Still not sold on him as a head coach yet, but he needs better coordinators to start with. Some heads need to roll in the off season.

Beamer cares more about feel good factor than making the tough decisions. He’s not it.

How do you under perform at USCjr? USCjr should be grateful that he even wants to be there. It’s not like good coaches are beating down the door to get in.

Same can be said about Tennessee quite honestly. Tennessee is a distant 3rd in its own division on destinations for potential coaches.

I guess that is the determining factor here. Beamer seems like he’s going to run a decent program that isn’t going to embarrass the university off the field. But at the same time he has from Maryland to north Florida that is very ripe recruiting ground with limited powers competing against him.

Maybe it is the staff but he grew up in the industry and should be able to know the guys that can get it done.

Wrong. Tennessee is a top 10 program in NCAA history. I think it was said last year by Herbstreet or Fowler that UT is one of the top jobs in the country. They have just as much money, facilities and fan support as any other team in the country. Even when UT was down last 20 years it was still a better job than USCjr.

No matter who the coach is at USCjr, you will always be limited in what you can do. The right coach at UT can win immediately due to the infrastructure already in place. That’s why Heupel was able to come in and win right away even with everything going on at UT when he took over.

USCjr isn’t a destination place for recruits. Steve Spurior was their best coach they have ever had and even he was limited in what he could do at USCjr. Right now you have UNC, Duke, Clemson, NC State, UT, UGA, all with in 4-5 hours from USCjr campus. USCjr isn’t out recruiting any of these schools right now. Their talent pool is a lot smaller to pick from when UT, Clemson, UGA, UNC, and Duke are ranked.

We are ranked 18th in recruiting. You think we don’t out-recruit duke nc state and unc?

Steve Spurrier was the best that you will ever get and he couldn't even get it done there. Neither could Holtz.

SC = coaching graveyard.

Nope. The only reason Vol fans can make this flimsy claim is a bunch of pathetic national title claims. In reality Tennessee has less national championships than a 3rd of the conference and lacks the excellent recruiting grounds in state that the true top tier jobs have

LINK

Sports Illustrated doesn't agree with you.

2. Herbstreet and Fowler saying Tennessee is one of the top jobs in the country doesn't take away from the fact that it's definitely behind Georgia and Florida as far as SEC East destinations go.

Exactly. Vol fans try to speak this into existence like it's the truth. Pathetic.
