NIL hasn’t killed us as much as Pat Dye and Milton McGregor passing away.

I gave for a while @ $34 a month level. Then we hired Freeze and I wasn't a fan. I quit giving. Once I made peace with the hire, I was going to give again.

But then I got my bill for the tailgate. I started thinking, putting 2 kids thru AU the since 2018, having to pay thousands for a tailgate space that was once free, paying for parking where it once was free...

And they tell me what to wear for each game...

AU has a much smaller number of sidewalk alumni compared some of these other schools so that also hurts. There are people who are a few years out and still paying their loans. You can’t ask them to fork out money for kids playing ball.

I buy tickets and merch. That’s all they get from me. If that’s not enough so be it

NIL and the portal will be the demise of college sports. Absolute power corrupts and for an 18 year old 5 star signing million dollar NiL deals is Absolute Power.

You pay for tickets. They make profit on that.

You pay for a tailgate. They make a profit on that.

You pay for merch. They make a profit on that.

You pay for cable. They make a profit on that.

Now they have an extra expense that cuts into a small portion of the profit for major programs. The rule is structured where all that profit is not allowed to be used and the average Joe has to fund that expense for them “to be able to compete”.

bullshite. Every fan should say frick no to that. If you have frick you money then do what you want with it but anybody that still has to work to live/save for retirement should not be paying a dime.

Everyone here complains about the huge buyouts and coaches getting paid for not coaching. That’s the money that should be getting cut into. Not your pocket.

You fund it, you’re enabling it. Rant over.

Right. I said that.

Why is that rule there? For the facade of amateurism that everyone knows is bullshite.

You sure do have some big elaborated opinion on donating 34 dollars to help recruiting.

34 doesnt even fund taco bell night around my house.

And who is "they"?

We can just let another collective from Bama or Georgia donate for us. Its all good.

Well said. And I do agree.

But sheep will be sheep for a 10 win season.

1. I don't believe you for starters. The amount of first world whining you do leads me to believe you got lost from the sewing circle of soccer moms.

2. You watch as we screw around with NIL; your precious prices will get cheaper as interest dies. Having a tailgate spot would be retarded then.

3. If you are okay with Thorne over Leary or May then who the frick needs NIL.

fricking Rantards

It would be interesting to see the rule and how it's intended. The one that says the university can not contribute to NIL.

Good point on why folks shouldn't bother with the $34 a month

That rule is intended to keep Universities away from revenue sharing. Once we are giving players their cut from broadcast deals (this will happen) then the whole college game we love is over.
