I would like to hear also. I'm not a car dealer.

I'm looking at purchasing a forester or a crv in the next couple of months.

Looks like to me the forester is the value pick, especially the premium or limited trim.

My wife and I bought a new Ascent earlier this year. Bigger than the Forrester so it’s hard on gas but the electronics are really nice and it’s a smooth ride. Would recommend to anyone. Seats are really comfortable for long trips too.
A coworker just got a new crosstrek and the system is identical electronically to the ascent. She loves it, same thing about the ride being smooth and much easier on gas. Subaru warranty is also hard to beat. Already had to take it in to fix a faulty seat but nothing major and was covered

Been in the business for awhile. Subaru, like most manufacturers, have gone to the CVT transmission. Nissan gets a bad rap for it because they were the first but virtually every good gas mileage vehicles have them now. Jeep, Honda, Toyota, nissan ect. Honestly, this is gonna sound kinda crazy, but for safety and all else incorporated Hyundai and kias are really good vehicles.

I like Subarus. Wife had an ascent for awhile it was just to small for our family. If you’re looking for a long term vehicle just know that, that transmission is gonna go out at some point.

I had a 2020 outback. It was a great car. I bought it brand new just before covid hit. Once the warranty was over they offered me almost 1k more than what I paid brand new because of inventory shortages. I took it.

Resale value on Subaru vehicles is great.

Now that was a weird time because we were giving people more for cars than what they msrp’d for a year earlier ect. The car market went ape shite for ab 2 years or so. However, I do agree. Subarus do have good resale value.

They come with a free coexist sticker, so that’s a pretty good deal.

Not a gear head but Subaru is money if you want a durable, solid arse vehicle without paying an egregious amount of money.

I got a Subaru Forester when I was in NYC because of how safe they are, how well they do in snow, and because I wanted a small SUV. It has been great and it made the drive from NY really smooth when we moved back.

I can haul my two young daughters with their car seats, a very large stroller and its accessories, a high chair, a potty, and all of our other stuff without resorting to putting the Thule box on top. For longer trips I use the Thule box and can get a pack and play, bouncer, and our suitcases. I’ve carried 8 ft 2x4s, 8 ft galvanized steel roof panels, and 30x80” doors. I’ve been pleased with its cargo capacity, although there have been many times I wished I had a truck.

I think it’s a very safe vehicle and it’s loaded with safety features. I got the Touring so it’s got everything. Backup and forward collision detection, lane drift warning, blind spot detection, advanced cruise control features (it will detect someone slower in front of you and automatically slow down to keep distance, then speed up if you start to change lanes or if they get out of the way), etc

Expect every lesbian in town to be hitting on your wife.

Other than that good solid car. I wanted one when we purchased our new vehicle last year. Wife didn't like them. So at least I know she's not a lesbian.

I think you also get an honorary professor parking pass.

But seriously, I’d test drive them. I had a loaner Subaru when my truck was being worked and it just wasn’t for me, and it was one of the limited editions.

I've owned several. They're good cars. The electronics package (which lets, be honest is what most younger drivers really care about) is top notch and the Eyesight and automatic cruise is legit.

If she's going to be driving in adverse weather conditions, they're great for peace of mind. Do really well in the snow (and rain), and don't have to think about it since it's fulltime AWD.

Factory tires suck and will need to be replaced sooner than what you'd think (start looking at them around 30k miles). There are some occasional weird issues with the touchscreen display that have been reported. Otherwise, they're solid.
