What grade would you give Rees thus far?

D plus for me. Lack of creativity in run and pass game. He also has not helped our true freshman stud offensive tackle. His play calling is very predictable, every first down no matter the distance is a run up the middle.

C to C+. I don’t know how much of his hands are tied due to Milroe and/or the OLine.

Judging by his offenses at Notre Dame maybe he’s the reason our offense is a black hole. His offenses there sucked also.

His QBs and WRs sucked too. I don’t know how much of that was because of him or recruiting/ position coaches.

If that’s the case Tizzy what made Saban think he was an attractive hire. Why hire someone who was already underperforming?

I didn’t say he was under performing, I think he was doing the best with what he had.
I don’t know why Saban chose him, I assume because he has a run first mentality and we missed on our first and/or second choice.

For example, we all think read option should be a strength for Milroe but we ran it today and we got to see that is not a strength. Most of us, including my dumbass, can see there are certain things we can do to help the offense but I’m not sure Milroe and/or the Oline can actually execute those plays/concepts.

D close to a D minus. The dude calls a run in the a-b gap on first down every time. Nothing is creative, he does very little to get our guys in space. If Milroe was more consistent and we looked this bad it would easily be an F

True but simple slants. Milroe threw a beautiful slant to Burton for a touchdown last week and this week we didn’t throw one at all.

I agree, slants should have been there today. I don’t know if we didn’t call them or Milroe wouldn’t pull the trigger. The answer to those questions will really tell you the answer to your original question. He’s no Sark, but I think he is/can be significantly better than BoB.

I think the thinking going in to the season was that we'd be a power running team. Did anyone realize our OL was going to suck arse?
I'll give him a C- since they finally went under center for the QB sneak from the 1 yard line. So that's improvement. Just stop the automatic 1 yard runs on first down...please.

I hired a guy 3 months ago that interviewed extremely well... And had great references. I'm actually getting ready to replace him because he isn't good. Knowledgeable guy, but he doesn't apply himself, doesn't take initiative, and isn't proactive... Literally sitsnat this desk and watches CNN all day
Maybe Rees just interviewed well. LOL

Look an OC is only as good as the OL he has to protect. Ours is abysmal at the LT spot. He has a new QB that’s growing and he doesn’t have the OL to allow that growth like AJ did or McElroy or Coker. I can’t pass judgement on a OC with the limitations he has on the line.

I think that he's behind the eight ball with the quarterback situation and the line. The coaches are petrified of throwing the ball with Milroe early. They know that if he gets tight early it is going to be a long day. The second half showed what kind of day that could be when he was 1 for 7 for 4 yards and several bad throws.

Too hard to grade. He's not working with anything remotely close to what we had from 2011-2022.

C, but that is trading on a curve. Our O is better than Arky, State, UT, A&M or Aubie, but those are all pretty terrible.

I'm looking forward to getting my dog back tomorrow.

Bc JM cant ever make the right read. If he handed it off to Jam he runs for 10+ but instead JM keeps it and gets TFL.
It makes it hard on an OC when the QB is incapable of simple shite.
But hey, we ran the tush push for a TD. So bonus points for that. Maybe Jalen Hurts can stop by on his bye week and give us some tips.
