DMac passes Chubb and close to Herschel if you include receiving, return, passing yards

For the same reason Herschel remains #1. Different eras.

Chubb shared the ball with Michel (#21 in career yardage).

McFadden also shared carries with Hillis.

And yet, people still remember and regard McFadden as one of the greatest RBs in college football history. No one but Mizzou fans remembers your boy. Oh, and McFadden still ran for over 100 yards that game despite the team as a whole not showing up.

And Chubb and Michel shared with other backs among them Todd Gurley for a year and Dandre Swift for a year.

It is unclear to me why you are trying to pump up McFadden. His stats stand on their own, as do Chubbs. Chubb has a higher per carry average and more yards. Both shared the backfield with other great backs.

Nicky Fitz wasn't a running back, he was a qb.

I straight up copied a list of top 25 leading rushers in SEC history, with no changes. Didn’t notice his name. Pretty amazing totals for a QB. It’s not a ranking by me, just a list based on yardage.

The only stat that would matter here is receiving yards if you are talking about an RB. It's great that DMac could do some trick plays or pass out of the Wild Hog, but he's a QB in that setup.

Return yards are special teams, not running back.

There's something to that but I don't know that its fair to completely throw out non rushing/receiving stats. We wouldn't take away a QB's rushing yardage when talking about the best to play the position

Fournette

Racked up most his yards against awful non conference opponents. His conference game numbers weren’t great. His performances against Bama were downright awful.

You can't place an average running back on a great team with a great line above a great running back on a shlt team with a shite line.

Yes you can, they do it all the time. They say Emmett smith was a better running back than Barry sanders. Which is a laughable joke. Put Barry behind that cowboys line in the 90s and Barry rushes for 250 a game plus.

Because McFadden was better than Chubb. Arrogant Georgia fans just can’t admit it.

Maybe. He didn’t have as many total yards, as many yards per carry, nor did he share the backfield to any greater extent than Chubb did. I’m just presenting facts, who was better is opinion. Personally, I think You are probably correct. But many metrics lean toward Chubb.

For us older guys who grew up watching football in the 70s and 80s, the top two are Herschel Walker and Bo Jackson, period, regardless of what stats you put up. Only question is which one to put first.

I used to love watching those two guys run the football.
So much speed and power. Still get nostalgic watching the old videos.

Again, Chubb played in more games. Easily explains having more yards.

Jamal Lewis and Terrell Davis not on your list.

List is an absolute joke.

Chubb had less carries despite the number of games (because he shared so much with Michel, another top 25 all time rusher, unlike Felix Jones)To put it as simple as possible. Each time he carried the ball he, on average, gained more yards than McFadden.

You are being arrogant here, and very dismissive of one of the SECs all time greats, Nick Chubb.

Neither rank in the top 25 of all rushing leaders.
Lewis had 2647 yards in 3 years.
Davis had under 1700 in 3 years.

Saw both play in person at their respective schools. Neither are among the best backs in SEC history, despite their incredible pro careers.

That’s fine. This is about being a college football running back. Jamal Lewis injury kept him off this list. Same as Todd Gurley.

Hearst, Ray Goff and injuries kept Davis from shining that much at UGA
