The SEC blue bloods are not poor, so what does this tell us?

Um... that we are saving for a rainy day?

It tells us that your blue bloods aren’t really nearly as powerful as they used to be.

It means we were all cheating, but now there is a level playing field.

Guys don’t want to ride the bench for 4 years when they can play somewhere else. Less to do with NIL and more to do with the transfer portal. Talent is being spread around. The SEC isn’t “going down.” Everyone else is getting better.

It was simply a matter of time. Too many teams here lose players after 3 years. More so in SEC than any other conference. That & QB play is the difference

I don't think it's so much the SEC going down...it's more of other conferences have come up = P-A-R-I-T-Y. You can thank the NIL & Portals for this. With rules changes to reflect the NFL, College football's = NFL-lite.

SEC has always gotten by on the talent in the conference. Now with NIL the talent is more spread out, and coaching actually matters.
Only a few teams in the SEC have "good" coaching.

It tells us that blue bloods can no longer have 4 and 5 stars three deep. Those days are over (for any program). If a kid is a 5 star and doesn't start as a freshman, he is walking. It happened to some degree before NIL, but is really going to happen now.
Some coach somewhere will be on the phone. "Hey, does Saban have you sitting? Come here and you'll start."

What fans have been saying is true: Football is king in the South. People already spend about as much as they can on football entertainment in the south. There just isn't any blood in those turnips.
Now look at the state economies of most SEC states. Only Texas has a big bucket of money.

It's more the unrestricted free agency of the transfer portal..
All sports leagues have roster rules for competition.

South has always been the poorest area of the country. NIL has given the B1G, ACC and PAC teams a leg up because they are in wealthier more industrial areas of the country

Correct. Kentucky just destroyed a team that used to beat them every single freaking year for literal generations. It ain’t because of NIL. They’re mastering the portal up there.

Lazy arse entitled players at the top and assume most of these players have poor recruiting evaluations. 12 team playoff gives other small programs incentive as well.
