Did you guys catch the commentary pre game that Nazir had said this defensive team doesn’t have the same focus or unity that they had last year? Paraphrasing because I didn’t catch the actual comments but that is concerning.

I haven’t worried about a mobile QB in years as we always shut them them down. Now, unless they tighten up we need to reassess our defense moving forward as seeing their non running QB get several first downs was scary….especially after his long run and we knew he could take off. That 9 yd run up the middle for a 1st down was infuriating.

I can’t accept its coaching…so it has to either be talent, inexperience or lack of focus. I hope they get it together because KY and TN are going to be very tough games if we play like we did yesterday.

Surprisingly, we need the linebackers to play better

Overall speed just looks down.

Lots of guys got caught flat footed.

Running past QB.

Bad angles on edges.

Non expert observations but what I see .

Not what we are used to.

Idk how Kirby is a former DB himself and specializes in defense yet our corners are the worst in the league at turning their head and playing the ball in the air.

They only threw at one side of the field.

Everette? He looked like he was struggling.

They are sucking imo

Even Mondon is playing a step slower as well

For fricks sake we need to start containing the edges

It all starts at the line of scrimmage! The past two years UGA’s front has consisted of Jordan Davis, and Jalen Carter. Those two caused double teams that allowed our LB’s to make plays and cause chaos! Now the LB’s are not able to do anything, and it does not help that some are missing assignments and are out of position! Hopefully this gets cleaned up in a few days!

This, wanna know why the linebackers aren't playing as well, turn on the Eagles and watch Jordan and Jalen cave in NFL Olines when they play together.

We dont have that star defensive lineman currently, theres no one on that line who will be a first round pick this year. Hell not even second round

The LB's has to show up. These are the same startering LB's from last year. Missing from last year's post season defense is....
Jalen Carter- Hopefully Hall grow into this type dominants.
Bear Alexander-See above
Trezman Marshall-Xavian Sorey is playing good.

The Kentucky game will tell all.

This. Jamon Dumas-Johnson has been the biggest disappointment of the season IMO. Just hasn’t really made an impact at any point yet.

At least Mondon made some big plays in the backfield yesterday, and he’s been recovering from an injury.

We also aren’t getting many strong showings from the guys backing up JDJ and Mondon. ILB has gone from one of our signature strengths over the last 6 years to one of our soft spots.

I’ve actually been very pleased with the interior DL and the secondary.

Am I missing something something?...but I don't think I've heard Lassiter's name mentioned a single time this season. Is he hurt?

Lassiter is as close to a shut down corner as we have had in awhile. You aren’t hearing his name because everyone is throwing it at #6. He has come up in run support and made some good tackles…people just don’t throw his way.

Because teams are avoiding throwing his way. That's a great thing.

On that 61 yd run by the AU QB around right end, Mondon made a tremendous tackle on the RB - ran right past the QB and just blew up the RB. Yep! Later, Chambliss did the exact same thing, and then Marvin Jones did the same too.

I think they want individual glory instead of trusting each other and playing solid position defense.

They had a good game plan. Kirby said they prepared for all of that, but it looked like the triple option action really fricked them up. Secondary taking terrible angles didn't help but LB and DL reacted slowly cause they didn't know where the ball was most of the time.
