CBS lead broadcast to do Iowa-Penn State instead of Alabama-Ole Miss
At least the rest of us are spared having to listen to him worship Bama for an afternoon.

1) CBS is riding out a failed contract with the SEC because they have to and will be pushing B10 narratives moving forward because that’s who they are aligned with.
2) Gary Danielson is a B10 guy who played at Purdue. He has no ties or great love for Bama and treats them no differently than he did Florida when they were rolling under Meyer.

Melt. You’ve lost everything.
Even Gary

It's funny how everyone thinks Gary hates their team and roots for their opponent. Bama fans think this too. Gary has no dog in the fight. A lot of people don't like him but I think he's one of the best announcers. He's very knowledgeable.

Yes, he's very knowledgeable but just talks entirely too much. Even talks while the referee on the field is making a call. Annoying af.

Because my favorite thing in the world is when you are watching a CBS game that doesn't include Bama and half of Gary's comments start with either "In the Alabama game..." or "Nick Saban..."

If you watch Auburn highlights, you can hear Verne and Gary actively cheer for our opponents. When we make a great play, like the Prayer in JH? "OH NO!" The older broadcasts were so over the top anti Auburn it was sickening.
Also, those two frickchuckles would intentionally mispronounce names as a game between themselves. they made it so obvious

I don't hear him speak of Bama much when we play. Can't speak for the rest of you.

I love that. Over the last several years you could be watching just about any game and at some point the announcers would start talking about Bama. Good times.

I’m sick of the CBS prime time 2:30 game. Good riddance. It’ll be nice having the DSOR and Iron Bowl as a night game on ESPN/ABC. Brad Nessler is absolutely boring to listen to as an announcer as well.
Verne, Ron Franklin, Musberger are in a different galaxy than him. Even Fowler is better than Nessler.

What you guys hear and what BAMA fans hear from Gary are obviously two different things. We hate Gary, and he doesn't 'love BAMA'.

If you like listening to a monotone announcer without any energy, sure, he’s awesome.

Both are somehow true:

It’s not about whether he loves Bama or not.
He can be critical of Bama.
It’s that his broadcast is from the perspective of what Bama is doing - almost like he’s speaking to Bama fans and not fans of the other team.
It’s 3rd and 3 - and Gary will talk about Bama needs this to happen in order to be successful. Or what will happen if Bama doesn’t do that. The other team is an afterthought.
Everyone else hears him and is thinking:
“Well what does the other team need to happen?”
That’s also the same crap Musberger would do by the way…
