In his presser after that embarrassment against USF he said he was "proud of the team" and said the QB's "played well"

The old bastard is finally going soft with age and the sharks smell the blood in the water

Again, from you idiots on here, he loses it every year. We will keep him as long as he wants to stay.

He’s old. 71 year olds don’t typically coach college football for a reason.

Something has been off with the alabama program since the 2018 national title. It’s been several years in the making. It became most obvious in the 2021 season with the down to the wire wins over average Auburn, Florida, and Arkansas teams along with the loss to Texas A&M.

Bama was fine in 2018. They just got beat by a great Clemson team. Clemson actually cost Bama two more national titles. Bama was fine again in 2019. They just lost to a generational team in LSU that year. And of course they won it all in 2020. 2021 is when the cracks started showing

He seems a bit disconnected and on the verge of mild dementia.

Disagree about the dementia but he does seem disconnected. I think he's just tired. And I think he hates what college football has become. I'll be surprised if he doesn't retire after this season.

It's honestly way too much stress for a person that age. Stress greatly accelerates cognitive decline, especially in the elderly. I understand he loves the game, but if I were him I'd have retired after the last championship and enjoyed the ridiculous amounts of money I had in the bank with my wife and kids.

Saban is one of the last of the old school coaches. Coaches that rule with an iron fist. He can't do that anymore and I don't think he knows how to adapt, especially at his age. Everything college football is today goes against his nature.

If he would have known what was coming right around the corner (NIL and transfer portal) I think he would have. I think he still had a few more years in the tank if NIL and portal doesn't happen and I think you would see more of the old Saban today instead of the new "kindler, gentler" Saban.

I was a rival fan who said that all of the 'he's lost his fire' talk would actually motivate him to rise up and return them to prominence.
The Tide's last 5 year recruitings rankings? #1, #1, #2, #1, #2. So, the talent HAS to be there. They have some of the best facilities in the nation. Sooooo...what is it? Coordinators? S&C program? How can a team like South Florida even stay on the field with a team like that? It's almost a paradox.

The fact that the players are having "players only" meetings, to blame each other and try to coach up the players show they believe he has lost his edge too.

I think NIL was it for him. Not trolling. He’s at the stage where you just say frick it and move on to other things. Bought a $17 million house in the golf Mecca of the world. I truly think he retires this or next year
